Four years later...
"Okay children, get your things ready, the bus is arriving!" I, who had left everything behind, coordinated little kindergartners.
They all scurried to get their bags and their lunchbox. It delighted my heart to see them so cheerful and carefree. They looked like little squirrels running around gathering tiny chestnuts. Adorable!
The children were very excited about going home, probably because they were going home to meet their daddies and mummies.
"Here Teacher!" One of the kids, Aliya, stretched a piece of paper towards me with her little hands. I accepted it with a smile.
"What's this?" I asked
"It's for you!" She said with a shy smile and I took a look at the paper.
There was a matchstick drawing of me. She used crayons to color my hair orange and my dress, blue.
I smiled out more and squatted to match her tiny figure.
"Thank you Aliya." I kissed the top of her head and the other kids swarm over me, each requesting for a kiss of their own.
