Chapter2

#Chapter2

Teya jumped at the feel of the gel spread across her belly as she laid on her back with her eyes closed. Thoughts of Ken from the night before haunted her. His hunt for Salina seemed to consume him. They were already rocky from the previous incident with Ross. They had filled her head with doubt. No matter how much she wanted to believe Ken loved her, she felt alone, and used. She touched her stomach lovingly. Knowing the baby was all she had now. Then those thoughts turned sour, thinking about what the half breed baby would need. Could she even provide for him or her?

/"Miss Daniels?/" Her eyes shot open from the single tear that fell. /"Your baby, see?/" She turned to the monitor to see the gray and black images seeing something small swimming inside of her. It was the very thing she needed to see to keep her mind clear and opened her heart. She was indeed pregnant with Ken’s baby. Her heart did a little flutter causing her to fall in love instantly. Teya walked out with her little picture staring at it until Markees walked up.

/"Hey ready?/"

She nodded not even acknowledging him. /"Wow you think the baby will have Ken’s hair? I see Kenneth and I know those genes run really strong./" He said as he looked at her picture.

She laughed softly. /"Maybe./"

/"Girl or boy?/" Markees began walking towards the exit as he placed his hands in his pocket. /"I didn’t want to know yet. I kinda want it to be a surprise./" Markees laughed softly then.

/"Yeah imagine the surprise when your folks find out its half vampire./" She paused licking her dry lips. The thought of her family, whoever they were. She had only known her grandmother on her mother’s side. No father no mother in sight for her. She didn’t want that for her baby.

/"I’m sure my grandmother will be happy to know if she was still living rest her soul./" Markees turned instantly ready to put his foot in his mouth. Teya held up her hands.

/"It’s fine. You didn’t know./" The car became quiet then.

/"You want some food or something?/"

She looked at the time. /"I better be getting back before…/" Markees nodded.

/"Right before they wake./" He concluded for her. /"How has that been living with them anyways?/" Teya opened her mouth to speak but a smirk only appeared on her lips.

/"Interesting. Kenneth has been trying to get back in civilization and Ken well you see him more than I do./"

The conversation turned sour fast.

/"We are trying to catch some of these half breeds running around the city. It hasn’t been easy for him you know that right? He is still new. What has it only been three months since he turned./"

Teya folded her hands, staring down at her lap. /"Any signs of the missing women?/"

Markees shook his head. /"So far you are the only one we have with this special scent. I wonder what you smell like?/"

Teya scoffed. /"I do too. Maybe of bacon and maple syrup. That’s what I ate this morning./"

Markees laughed, glancing over at her. /"If that’s the case I can see why Ken is so attached to you. Who can resist bacon?/" They laughed together.

Oddly enough Markees was the only friend she had that knew everything she was going through. She found it sort of ironic that before both men hated each other, him and Ken, but now they both watched over her with fierce protection. Ken becoming the leader of the Vampire Association and Markees as his right hand seemed to work out well for them. Maybe they only got along for her, but she didn’t care either way. Markees’s crush on her didn’t sway, but he respected her decision and didn’t try to make any advances.

On top of that Ken wouldn’t hesitate to kill him. They pulled up to the house on the outside of the city in the country. Woods surrounded the place with plenty of cover from the sun. Perfect place for her little vampire family to settle. It didn’t take long for them to move out of her old apartment to this new house once Kenneth came back with them and they saw how small the place would be to fit all four.

Plus the baby needed space and her apartment possessed to many memories that Teya couldn’t live with. She opened the door to the new house that was two story with a basement, where Kenneth slept.

/"Well home sweet home. Can I get you anything before I head out?/" Markees asked, right when Ken walked up. He walked slowly as if pain, fully dressed in black.

/"Ken why are you…/" She ran to him to help him walk. The sun was setting but was far to early in the day for him to be walking around.

/"I need to know is the baby okay?/" He touched her cheek with little strength he had as he leaned against the wall. Teya smiled and placed the sonogram in his hands. He glanced at Teya then the picture with a smile.

/"Wow. I don’t know what I’m looking at, but it’s so beautiful. She is so beautiful./" He said.

/"How can you tell if it’s a girl or boy?/" Markees asked folding his arms. Ken glared at him.

/"Because the father always knows./" He hit his arm playfully. /"Now get out of here we have that vampire to interrogate later./"

Markees nodded. /"Yeah I miss the days I only took orders from Ross now I have a six foot blonde hair vampire calling the shots somewhat gets annoying./" Ken smirked at Markees’s sarcasm.

/"Wait interrogating vampires?/" Teya stood up to both of them. /"Is that something you should be doing? Is that safe I mean?/"

Ken held her close to him. /"We will be fine./" He kissed the top of her head. A wiff of her scent caught in his nose and trailed his way to his heart. She was addicting which Ken wondered would the other be the same. Would he be able to control himself? More than once he found himself staring at Teya’s neck, wanting to bite into her and take her warm fluids that he craved to survive now. Luckily her medallion never left her neck and he couldn’t hurt her.

/"We won't let nobody hurt you or the baby Teya./" Markees promised as he walked out the door. She turned to Ken, still admiring the picture in his hands.

/"Did you find her?/" He placed the picture on the table as he struggled to take a seat in the chair while he shook his head.

/"I trailed her back to the Hell-house and the scent is gone after that. She is traveling with someone. Another vampire I never met./" Teya sighed at his reply as she sat beside him at the table. /"Salina will have her judgement day. She won’t find us. Not before I find her./"

His mouth twitched with the anger that overcame him every time he closed his eyes he could see her on top of him grinding on him and then the pain. She was the reason he couldn’t sleep and now walk in the day, which he loathed himself for. He glanced at the covered window wanting to see the sun, but knew he couldn’t ever again. He gulped as his incisors began to lengthen.

/"Shit./" He cursed covering his mouth causing Teya to rush to the refrigerator to give him a pack of blood.

He took it gratefully and began to suck on the bag of blood hungrily. He turned away from her, trying not to be so savage. She touched his cheeks, startling him as she saw his eyes red from bloodlust.

/"Ken, neither one of us prepared for this and honestly I miss how things were before, but things can never be the same again. I’m here with you trying to accept this change./" She paused as she confessed her feelings. /"Not going to lie though. I feel alone in this. You hide from me. You won’t tell me about what’s been bothering you. You hate what you are I get it, but that hate you hold is consuming you. You are pushing away from me and I don’t like it. Not if we are going to have this baby./"

His eyes soften back to his normal blue right before her eyes. The muscles in his face relaxed. She was right. He had pushed away from her calling himself protecting her.

/"Being the thing I despised the most has made me loathe myself. I’m only trying to protect you even if that means from me. You and the baby are all that matters to me. Forgive me I lost sight of how to be the man you fell in love with to becoming this monster./"

She rolled her eyes as she stood up. /"No you aren’t a monster. Your father isn’t a monster./"

/"Oh speak for yourself Teya./" His rasp boosting voice bolted into the room as he stood in the doorway.

/"Kenneth I didn’t hear you awake./" She walked over to him with a loving hug as he smiled and held her gently.

/"How is my grandchild doing?/" Ken stood with ease as the sun nearly disappeared.

/"She is fine. See?/" He showed him the sonogram. Kenneth’s eyes lit up.

/"Lana had one of these for you Ken and for the first time we saw your small feet she cried./" He paused remembering his wife, missing her terribly. /"I promise I will protect your mate with my life. No one will destroy this family again./" Kenneth placed his hand on his son shoulder with much conviction.

/"Speaking of Lana where did you get this medallion. I need another made for the baby if it’s possible./" Kenneth grabbed his forehead.

/"Aw yes. Nia. I will see if she is still amongst the living. It has been twenty or so years since I seen her./" Kenneth replied, grabbing a blood bag from the fridge.

/"Nia?/" Ken asked, folding his arms.

/"Yes the witch who crafted that piece of art, she was a friend. I went to her once I knew you were coming into the world I knew at all cost I wanted you protected./"

Ken took a thoughtful pause. /"How soon will you be able to contact her?/" Kenneth shrugged.

/"I can look for her tonight./" Kenneth concluded.

/"Well I will be in the shower and I’m headed for bed./" Teya shocked both men as they looked at her awkwardly.

/"So early?/"

Teya nodded as she walked out the kitchen with a wave of flirtation. Kenneth laughed softly.

/"She wants you to join her you know./" Ken turned to his father. /"It’s too soon. I hear her blood rushing through her body and my mouth waters and I struggle to contain myself. I can’t hurt her./"

/"I see. I was the same way with your mother, but I loved her so much I knew I could never hurt her. Besides that medallion keeps her safe even if I was to try./" Ken sat at the table, in deep thought, his body urging him to go upstairs, but his mind telling him no.

/"You are still human on the inside son. You have to trust yourself at some point./" Ken scoffed. /"I feel like shit. Like I’m dead inside. I don’t know what I would do without her./" Kenneth stood then with a smirk.

/"Then why are you telling me?/" He gestured to the stairs. /"Go show her./"

He left the house then, leaving them alone. Ken took a deep breath and walked upstairs smelling her vanilla bodywash hitting his senses first. Lust hit him hard as he imagined the soap lathering her naked body. He mentally cursed at himself as he hurried with blurring speed in the bathroom, surprising Teya. Before he removed the shower current out of the way, he paused.

/"Are you wearing the medallion?/" A small smile wanted to creep on Teya’s face as she knew what was about to happen. After months of waiting.

/"Yes./"

The S didn’t finish leaving her mouth before Ken removed the shower curtain back and took over her mouth before she had time to think about anything else. She undressed him as he devoured her, touching and feeling every inch of her.

/"What took you so long?/" She asked once she finally could breathe.

/"I don’t want to hurt you Teya./" He replied, as they stared each other in the eyes.

She lifted her right leg to his waist as she leaned against the wall. Enough words were said. Her sex filled his nose arousing him even more. Teya’s hormones were on fire as she dripped with need for him. Every touch he made she felt as if she would come right then and there.

Ken kissed his way down to her breast and to her stomach until he reached the golden center. Her smell intoxicating as he took all of her in before taking the first lick. She shuddered as her stomach clenched. Everything seemed so intense within her, so sensitive. Ken hummed at her taste as he continued to feast on her until she was withering begging for mercy.

Her hands held on to the shower rod and the wall hoping to gain some balance. The sweet melody of her moans rang in Ken’s ear as he felt her close to her orgasm. Before she could he lifted his head and anchored his now naked body close to hers. They were skin to skin. His cold against her warmth.

/"Take me./" She commanded grabbing his penis and inserting it herself.

He smirked at her request and thrust forward sending her flying to the heavens. The sweet release she wanted. He grabbed her hands lifting them above her head as his body performed a slow rhythm as she settled back to earth.

/"I love you./" He said looking her in her eyes. /"You know that right? Fuck what Ross and Allen told you about me just wanting to knock you up. It is so much more than that. Not that I’m complaining./"

He touched her stomach with a smile.

/"None of it was true./"

Deep in heart she believed him. The pleading look in his eyes for her believing that read true.

/"So I’m guessing you are telling me you’re not going to the drug store and get a pack of cigarettes then I won’t see you in eighteen years./" She joked.

Ken laughed softly, thrusting hard into her causing her to gasp. He pressed deep inside her, smashing her body between him and the wall, no space in between.

/"I’m not going anywhere./" She smiled arching her body to him.

/"I know./" She wrapped her arms around his neck, laying against him. /"I love you./" He began a slow rhythm until they both came together.

Once Teya was sleeping Ken entered the VA facility on a mission to interrogate the vampire the hunters captured. After his session with Teya he couldn’t possibly allow this rogue vampire to roam free near her. To protect her, he told himself, he had to find Salina. She was the biggest threat. The guard nodded to Ken as he opened the door to the underground bunker that Kenneth was trapped in for twenty three years. The vampire hung several feet from the floor against the wall, drained and hungry. He was paler than usual and scrawny.

/"Oh I see we have a traitor in our midst. I should’ve known./" The vampire tsked. /"You’re a fucking disgrace teaming up with the likes of humans./"

Ken released the vampire from his shackles as he hit the floor with thud. The door securely closed behind him leaving the vampire no where to run. Ken laughed.

/"The likes of humans? Forgive me for saying so, but weren’t you a human before someone turned you?/" He squatted in front the man. /"There is no us without them./" The man laughed then.

/"They are there to carry our warm blood. Their blood bags./" Ken gave a hard right hook to the man’s jaw causing his black blood to spill. /"Allen was right about you./" The man whispered, causing Ken’s eyes to widen. He grabbed his throat lifting him in the air as if he weighed nothing.

/"Who are you? How do you know Allen?/" The vampire began to choke as he tried to speak. /"Fredrick. And of course I know you and Allen. What vampire around don’t? I know you killed him and now every vampire around here seems to be frightened by this soft pussy ass half breed./"

Ken hit him again causing his head to hit the wall. /"What do you know about the half breed army? Who is building it?/" Fredrick laughed again as the toxic black blood poured from his mouth.

/"You honestly know nothing do you? They will strike here and they will bail me out. If you care about these humans then you better let me go./" Ken folded his arms with a ripple of muscle.

/"That’s even better than the leader will come to me and this will all be over./" Fredrick shook his head. /"It won’t be over. This will never be over./"

Ken grabbed his throat again hanging him back against the wall as the metal handcuffs instantly closed.

/"Vampires will take over the earth Ken. Just face it. You had the best of both worlds why did you change?/" Ken shook his head.

/"I didn’t ask for this. I didn’t ask for any of it. I was born into a world that knew nothing but pain and suffering and now you will know the meaning so you better pray your vampire friends come rescue you before I…/"

/"Alright that’s enough./" Markees walked in, gesturing for Ken to come out.

/"You better go before your human gets angry like a good little doggy. She will find you./"

Ken jumped up and hit the wall right beside Fredrick’s head nearly cracking it. /"We need him alive./" Ken turned to Markees with disapproval, but restrained himself as he walked out of the room hearing Fredrick’s laughter echoing in the back of his mind.

/"Were you going to beat him to death jeez Ken. I thought we were savage./" Markees crossed his arms wearing his police like uniform.

Ken scoffed. /"He sounded so much like Allen it’s almost scary./" He confessed. /"He knows something. It has to be Salina./"

/"Is it Salina because of proof or is it Salina because you want it to be?/"

There was the pause that answered Markees’s question. He sighed. /"We have been using every tool we have to find her. She has gone into hiding. If it is her it makes sense, but honestly is she smart enough to put this together on her own?/"

Ken glanced at Markees then back to the ground, his hand holding his chin in thought. /"No. She isn’t./"

/"Well that leads us to square one then./" Ken sighed. Months into this investigation and they found nothing. Stopping a few rogue vampire from killing humans was one thing, but the real threat was silent.

/"Where’s Kenneth?/" Ken shrugged.

/"Somewhere finding a witch./" Markees looked confused. /"A what? Please tell me those aren’t real too./"

Ken shrugged. /"I suppose they are. Apparently they made the medallion for me./" Markees cursed softly turning his back to Ken.

/"Hey I never thought I would say this, but thank you for helping Teya. I know it must be hard for you being in love with my woman in all…/" Markees turned with wide eyes.

/"I’m not in love with Teya./" He objected. Ken threw his hands up in defense.

/"Okay fine. Was in love then. She needs a friend who can be there for her when I can’t. Understand human things that I no longer can. I thank you for that, but I will warn you. Don’t step to close because she is mines Markees. Don’t make me regret it./" He walked off in a very rude fashion without giving Markees time to say anything.
