Eyes burning, vision foggy, he struggled to a sitting position. Cracking, his back caught in that awkward click between pain and satisfaction as his spine straightened. And then he stared at the alarm like a dummy for a good few beeps before the penny dropped that he was supposed to shut that shit off.

As silence rained down, hitting the early morning air, he allowed a small sigh. The pillow seemed to call to him, whispering the Devil's sins as it tried to get him to curl back up and sleep. He resisted, if only because he knew he had far too much to do. His manager had been on his case, riding his ass about confirming touring dates, and he knew that he needed to give a definite answer.
