That theory was proved correct as Ronan nodded. /"Yes. I had . . . I suspected. Wondered, even, and when you took the job, it made me think that I had been right./"

/"If you thought that, why didn't you just ask?/"

/"Because,/" Ronan said slowly, his baby blues flickering up to the sky, trailing after the flock of birds that had swooped over them, hitting an angle before disappearing from sight. /"I dropped hints, doll. So many of them, and you didn't respond to any of them. I just figured that I was wrong, and bringing it up would have been pointless./"
