I emptied that box. Blocks and shapes went scattering across the floor. Duncan played. I explored.

I ended up blasting myself with his baby powder. I tipped it over my head, giggling as it snowed on me. I rubbed most of it into my skin, making me look like a ghostie, and tried to stamp and rub the bits that had fallen to the floor into the carpet. The carpet was grey so it was quite obvious but I placed Duncan on top of the spot, hoping that he would hide it.

I climbed in his crib but climbed back out when it made an unhealthy creaking noise. I had fallen out of bed often enough to think the idea of a bed with bars was an awesome thing to have.

/"What do you think?/" I asked Duncan, who had grown bored of his toys and was sucking on the sock that he had pulled off of his foot. /"Do you think I would look cute in one of these?/"
