I waited for him to move me but he didn't. He looked down at me with an odd look before he shifted position so that he was more reclined, his arms wrapping around me. I made a happy sound, snuggling into the warmth his body heat offered, raising the tip of the bottle to my mouth.

I shared my cookie with him, breaking it in half. He kissed the top of my head for sharing with him, which made me feel all soft and floaty, as though drinking from the bottle alone wasn't doing a good enough job of that, and by the time my arms started to droop after I had finished drinking, I was clinging to his arm like a koala, gently chewing the fabric of his shirt.

I woke up curled into his side. The floor was surprisingly comfortable and I had been covered by the sofa throw. Joel was still asleep. He was still dressed in his work clothes, having fallen asleep in them, but he had kicked off his shoes and socks.
