#Chapter43
JAMESON
Six years ago
Axel and I weren't in the same disciplines. He was in Arts and Humanities. I was in engineering. We graduated at different times, but too close together to see each other walk across the stage. He'd miss my speech, but he'd seen me practice it a few times, so we were all good.
Axel ignored Shelia and she him when we found her under the awning of our house, shaking out her umbrella. We parted ways after a man hug and a /"see you later./"
I turned to Shelia. She was breathtaking, even when she masked her dislike of my brother with a sunny smile. Yes, Shelia's personality wasn't the best, I didn't care. Growing up in neglect made her harder... tougher than most. I admired her perseverance. Her spirit. I loved her enough to forgive the way she viewed life through cynical glasses.
I had to. We were getting married, for better or for worse.
