#Chapter49

HER SMILE HAS LEFT HER EYES

Emaya sluggishly opened her eyes as the just-risen sun poured through the window. The curtains add an orange glow to the morning light that lit up her scruffy room.

The thunderstorm was long gone but the storm in Emaya's head remained. She woke up in daze, rubbing her eyes roughly until her vision became clear, revealing the sight of a messy room, things broken and scattered across the floor.

Emaya was sad. Sad, because she woke up. Sad, because she wasn’t dead. Sad, because she couldn’t escape.

Emaya remained lying on the floor before she struggled to sit up. However, the immense pain in her body didn’t allow her and she fell back down on the floor.

The blood on her head was already dried up. It was still aching. It hurts a lot. Hurts mentally and physically.

Emaya stayed there, breathing heavily. Her eyes were drained, there weren't any tears left.
