I had no idea what was happening as Ayato drove from place to place, meeting with random men, exchanging money for packets of god knows what. He never bothered telling me what he was up to, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to know.

Still in shock from everything that had happened, I could feel the throbbing pain in my head from when he knocked me out. As much as I thought I was starting to become attached to him, after getting a small taste of freedom, I realised that what I was attached to was the comfort of not being alone, cooped up in that room, afraid and feeling empty but now as I sat here in the moving car, I didn’t want anymore than being able to walk back outside on my own free will.

I glanced towards him, his hands on the steering wheel, he was focused on the road. I could see from the signs that we were heading towards an airport and I wondered if he was planning on flying us out of the country.
