A day gone. A lesson learned.

Growing up, he spent most of his days at home. At the tender age of 4, as best as he could remember, he's been training with his father. Although they did go out sometimes to watch a movie or to visit the neighbors. Looking at the group of kids his age playing some sort of tag game, he couldn't recall if he ever had any point in time when he had genuine fun.

From his perspective, he's ever known one thing, and that's to constantly train. The joy of emerging victorious in a battle, that's the only fun thing he could think of.

Standing on the vast grassland surrounded by kids not knowing what to do, he scanned his surroundings to see if there was anyone he could approach, but every child was too engrossed in the game they were playing, that they even failed to take notice of him. Feeling like an outcast, he backed away ever so slowly, as he felt a shadow loom over him and his heartbeat race, he turned to run but felt a hand grab his shoulders.

"Come sit with me boy," Ren said with a soothing smile.

Timeless eased up a bit seeing the calming feel from his father embodied upon him. As they proceeded to head towards an empty spot far from the sight of any human.

"Watching the sunset is such a wonderful experience don't you think," Ren said with a chuckle as he laid back on the grass gazing towards the horizon, after a while, he said "They remind me of the beauty that's out there when our world can seem so ugly at times. Full of conflict, strive, greed, selfishness. Or even just stress and wrong thinking. Negative stuff that I let myself get sucked into as well. This beauty breaks the change to such negativity".

"It seems you still do not understand the concept of life I'm trying to engrave in you boy, even after all you witnessed". Taking a pause he continued "Well, it doesn't matter, time is the real teacher. For there'll come a time in your life when you need to look back at past events. For now though just listen to your old man's rambling" Ren said with a serious face.

Growing up, hearing from the old foggies about the early days of humans in God's domain and how they worked together to achieve a common goal, it's a shame at the moment to witness how humans have lost their purpose.

Don't just learn, experience.

Don't just read, absorb.

Don't just change, transform.

Don't just think, ponder.

Don't just see, feel.

Don't just dream, do.

Don't just hear, listen.

Don't just exist, live

These are the eight "don't" an oldie gave me and the last one did really hit me at that point.

Because of the emergence of the domain, humanity had to face its toughest period yet since its creation, constantly battling beasts without a safe zone like we do now. So we could be considered lucky not to have been born during a period of crisis. But as I grew up, I began to understand certain things and my concept changed. The age of heroes is passed, and the golden era when men & beasts constantly battled for survival and growth, is now a forgotten memory due to the current power status. The presence of the four clans that have continued to oppress the masses which has in turn caused the humans to regress to such a status.

Take a look around you, there's no better scene to portray what I say on this than the one you just witnessed, this is the greatest lesson I can teach you as your father. For the path you take is yours alone to make, you're still too young to fully understand everything you just saw and I've said, but in time you'll understand the importance of what you witnessed today.

Staring at the group of kids playing about In the fields he sighed and said "Humans have gotten so engrossed in their mindless quest for benefit and strength, we've forgotten how to truly live, at the moment we are all tethering on the brink of madness and insanity"

For some reason unknown, Timeless felt the strong words echo in his mind as he felt his heart stir a bit, leaving him at a loss for words, only confusion evident on his face.

"Sorry for not being able to give you a perfect life kiddo, I and you mother will be heading towards the second domain after our final hunt, making us eligible to get an aristocrat title that allows us to live inside the Federation, with that we'll be able to give you a much better foundation that we can't now," Ren said mildly, his gaze firm.

Growl !!!

A loud Grumble was heard as both Timeless and his father turned to look at each other puzzled.

"Alright the moon is up, time to head home, I can't imagine what your mother will do if we don't return back on time" Ren shuddered at the thought, as he hurriedly stood up not paying mind to Timeless who still had a complex look on his face, turning to leave.

Timeless turned his gaze to the vast grassland giving it one last glance but as he did he saw a girl standing on the horizon looking his way with a smile on her face. He made a quick look around to be sure the gaze was directed at him and after confirming there was no one around he turned to gaze back at the girl and a smile formed on his face.

"I was noticed after all" Timeless silently muttered as his gaze lingered on.

The Moon, with its radiant light, illuminated the night sky like a beacon of hope, providing a sense of comfort and peace to him. Its gentle glow bathed him with its soft, silver light, casting shadows that danced and flickered across the landscape. It was as if the Moon were an old friend, silently watching over him but her beautiful smile radiated kindness that seemed to outshine the moon's rays. That feeling of acknowledgment and that smile that felt ever so real.
