Violet's POV

"Think about how many of us could be in danger. We have seen the mini suns run wild before in other tribes and villages. Even cities as it's taken down plenty of them before. How will we be able to control something so fast like that now with so many of them here in our tribe?" he asks everyone

It does make sense but we use fire all the time. It's a necessity so why are they too scared for growth? How must I convince them to want to use fire? I am not eating everything raw here, that is fact! I look at Jee and even he looks convinced fire must not be worth trying

Great! Now I have a quest to do. What if I get it wrong what happens? I hope it's nothing bad. I have to think. Fire can be used to boil and clean food and cook. Can also show light around the tribe at night and I need something good. Something that would benefit the tribe. Besides light and food, what can fire benefit the tribe? I got it!

"I understand new things can be scary and I get it, but fire is something we use a lot from where I am from. We use fire of course to see at night. We use fire to cook our food and we use fire for medicine." I tell them

Why is it so hard? They can just fly up and get them?

"Those are good suggestions but how will we catch up with the mini suns or fire as you said if they are not controlled." he asks concerned

"Before any of the fires were made we left buckets of water next to each one. If they do get out of control we can throw the water over it." Jee says coming to the rescue

"You know how they are. They can spread for miles beyond miles without anyone stopping them. It can take a whole kingdom down. What do we do if that?" the male asks

"Make bigger water tanks and buckets. We can use them to also hold water in reserves for us when we don't want to walk to the stream every time. We will build something big enough where everyone can pitch in and use the buckets to throw water on the fire. We can also use the sand nearby to throw on the fire too. I have used sand to maintain the fire near our tree-house. The fire never goes beyond it." Jee says with authority

"That is a good suggestion and bringing back more water to have available here would help a lot instead of going back and forth to the stream for water everyday." I hear one of the males say out loud

"Also, I don't think many of your females will be too happy not having their males cook them fish every once in a while." Jee says back towards the females

I see all the females rethink the idea and they start glaring at their males. They must really like fish!

"How about we maintain the use of fire during certain times and maybe have someone or a few just watch over fire at night? I don't mind doing that since I am up at night?" I suggest

"Wow is a female saying she would work?" I hear another male say

"That's so rare. I never would have thought females even knew what work was." Someone else says in the crowd

"Not all of us just sit at home and make babies. I actually make the clothes and help wash them! And I don't mind cooking either." Clarice says to us and walks up next to me

"I actually do the gathering with Ted. He always picks the wrong fruits." another female says shyly while her male looks embarrassed

"Wow, I never would have thought that." A few males say while looking around

"Lets maybe have one big area where we have fire and we can cook at. At night we can have 3-5 lanterns of fire and we can switch off monitoring them. And when we sleep we can turn them off with the water bins." Jee says to them

"I would like that! I love fish and want more. I don't want anything cold anymore." says another female

"I agree. If we start little we should be fine and we can place the cooking fire away from any fields and by a lot of rocks and sand." Another females says

"Please understand that Austin was just worried about the tribe and the dangers it could cause our little tribe. Anyone would think that." Out walks Becks saying that

I see Jee look annoyed and he walks right next to me. So close our shoulders touch.

"Sounds good to me. Violet also said something about medicine. We need it here. We have a lot of females and the winter season is coming. If we can make medicine with fire, so be it." Clarise says and raises her hand

"All in favor of fire, raise your hand." Grand Chieftess says walking to the front

We look around and more than 90% of the tribe raises their hand.

"Looks like we have won the vote. We will monitor the fire so that we can learn how to maintain it and then when we understand it more we will be able to have it in our own nests. As for Jee and Violet they can have their own since they know how to manage fire. At night time we will have a group of beasts monitor the lanterns and when everyone is sleeping we can turn them off. Here at the circle we will leave one on all night away from everything else so if any males or females would like to cook they can use it freely." Grand Chieftess says and everyone smiles

"Good decision." Jee says to his mom and looks at everyone and nods

Everyone looks happy except for one person who glares at me. Becks!
