Chapter 9: Thread of Rebellion

Rather than act immediately—like Aster wanted to—Rowan advised that he take some time to cool down. To get to know the castle grounds, to learn more about the city. Aster spent the first couple of days in his room, reading, and Rowan brought him food and drink when asked. His protector barely left his side, and as he finally began to feel safe again, he began to venture out and explore a little. He avoided the King at all costs.

So after two weeks of ruminating on his feelings toward the King, when Rowan said there was someone he wanted Aster to meet, Aster was not expecting to end up in a dressmaker’s shop the next day.
