Chapter 10: Not Just A Bride

Once Aster’s first weeks in the capital had finally run their course, it became far easier to adjust to this new life. The castle halls became far more familiar in the time he took to walk them, to get to know where everything was. No one raised an eyebrow when he explained that he was trying to learn the castle grounds. And why would they? He was still new to this place, it only made sense.

But unlike his first days here, he knew what he wanted now. He had a goal, he had allies, and he had the drive to see it through. While he made preparations for the wedding, while he poured over the types of flowers and cake he wanted, while he envisioned attire and songs to dance to, another kind of plans would be made beneath, in secret.
