Chapter 21: The Sand Table

Aster had to admit, this was certainly the most sophisticated band of rogues he’d ever encountered. Not that he’d encountered many rogues in his lifetime anyway, but he certainly hadn’t expected them to be like this.

As more of the day passed, and Kray extended an invitation of full hospitality to him, Aster found himself wandering around the camp. It was clean, well-kept, and the tents were organized very neatly. A large bonfire pit sat in the very center of the camp, tended to by some members of the Everglory, while still others prepared food over the smoldering coals. Even children ran around, giggling and playing with one another. Everyone was clad in tattered clothes, but they were remarkably clean and well-mended.
