Kate pressed her ear up against the door for the fifth time in the past hour and for the fifth time confirmed there was no one on the other side. Or so she thought, there could be someone there pretending to be a statue.
Either way, she was growing restless. Usually Kate had no issues sitting alone in solitude, she did in fact, relish those moments.
It was all very different knowing what Thane was up against, unable to do anything but hide.
She sighed as she stared at the door handle.
“I hate waiting,” she said in her best Inigo Montoya voice. Turning the ornate metal knob, she exited the storage room.
The door opened a foot before running into something solid. Kate put her shoulder against it and pushed as hard as she could. Her feet slid against the floor as she tried forcing it wide, but ended up only succeeding making the entryway only wide enough for her to squeeze through.
