Chapter 46: Captain of the Night Sun

Kate felt a hand patting the side of her face as one would do to wake someone up. Her eyes fluttered open and the same man who had knocked her unconscious knelt in front of her, studying her eyes.

After a few seconds, he nodded and said, “You should be fine.”

“Where,” Kate stopped, her voice was hoarse and words barely came out. She coughed and tried to clear her throat but it was too dry.

She was sitting down inside some kind of office, this one looking like it belonged to some kind of commander based on the layout. She sat against a large desk, all the chairs in the room faced in her direction.

The large, bearded vampire held a canteen to her lips and poured ice cold water into her mouth. He raised the container slowly and was careful not to spill as she drank.

When she had had her fill, Kate spoke again. “Where am I?”

The vampire screwed the cap back onto the canteen as he said, “One of the Winterblood boundary outpost now in control by the coven of the Night Sun.”
