Rebellious Maidens - Episode 7: Saving Mill Yorks

[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]

"See you later when I summon you again!"

Milli and Maria watched as a black hole consumed the Devil Girl and Rance waved goodbye to her as if it was just something usual.

"Erm... Rance, did you do that?"

"Do what? Toss her back to the Realm of Devils like it's just what I usually do? Yeah." He admitted to Maria, as she and Milli were just.... speechless.

"But.... your soul...." Maria spoke, shuddering at the thought of Rance's soul being taken soon.

Yet, Rance just glanced at her with a confident grin.

"I haven't spent the two other wishes yet. So for now, my soul's completely safe and fine." He replied, before walking towards the direction of where the crystal ball was. "Aside from that, we have to save the second of the witches, right?"

Both Maria and Milli nodded, getting close enough to Rance as he began to activate the device, and they were sent to the location where the four devices were.

"Oh? We're here again." Rance spoke, not once surprised that they were here. He didn't really mind it, but seeing that they were on the third teleportation device which was at the left, he wondered where the other two devices would transport them next.

Milli wanted to say something, but she suppressed herself and began to watch Rance's movement.

"Eeny, meeny, miney, moe.... eeny-meeny-miney-moe...."

Rance took several glances at the fourth and second teleportation devices, before he approached the second device to his left and began to hijack the device.

Milli glanced at Maria, and due to overtaking curiosity, she began to ask.

"What's he doing?"

"He's going to lead us somewhere we normally cannot access. Though it would actually take some time to do so." Maria replied, tapping her foot to the ground.

They waited for a few more seconds, before a bright light engulfed them.

After the light dimmed, they were now at another hall in the dungeon that had barely any light aside from the glowing spot that they were standing on.

"So, where are we now?" Milli asked, as Rance shook his head.

"Somewhere important, maybe." He replied, holding one of his hands up and made a ball of light that floated above his palm. "For now, we'll have to head to the dead end of this hallway. After all, I usually find random good stuff by exploring hallways like these."

The ball of light began to light up the dark hallway in front of them and due to the brightened pathway, they proceeded forward without any problems, except that there's monsters that were easily taken care of by Rance and his party.

They took a turn right, another turn right, and another, and another...

"Ahh... I'm tired, how long are we going in circles?" Milli complained, as Rance shrugged.

"A few more turns. And there's a button, too." He replied before pressing a button on the wall, as they continued going around, until they reached a dead end, which has an already rotting corpse lying on the corner of the room. The armor it wore and the sword it has had already rusted down and, meaning that it was completely useless.

"Hmph. This idiot must have been using cheap weapons and armor to die pretty easily."

Aside from that, Rance began to inspect the corpse, before taking a ruby that it held. He inspected the ruby, and put it into his pocket with a smile.

"I'll put this into good use. Like, really good use." Rance spoke, thinking about something else concerning his residence.

Maria recoiled backwards, staring at Rance with some fear.

"You... you're just going to take that?"

"What? I don't mind having my taxes from those loan sharks paid just because of this." He replied, before he put it into his coat's inner pocket.

"Rest in peace.... whoever you are...." Maria spoke, before she and Milli looked at Rance, who looked a little impatient right now.

"It might take a long while to get back to the device just by walking, so why don't we make our way back by simply running?" He suggested.

Milli and Maria agreed, though the latter was very reluctant. And then, they ran back to the device, where Maria and Milli were exhausted and tired from all the running they did.

After that, Rance rubbed the surface of the device and activated it, transporting them back to the room where the four teleportation devices were present.

So.... what now?

Rance remembered a pathway to something they had yet to discover, so he backtracked their pathway until they were back near the entrance of the Third Floor.

They took a turn, and after a short walk, they arrived in front of a doorway that had a hole which the Jewel he had taken from the corpse earlier.

"....."

Realizing that it might be the only key to get inside, he began to think of something else.

Why not just hijack the door? That would waste some time, but the payoff would be really great.

If the ruby was a some sort of key, then he should be able to do something with it, right?

"I see.... so that's it, huh..."

He needed to use magic to hijack the door open, but before that, he gared at the ruby he recently took out and used [Reading Iris] on it, reading it's magical signatures and then began to hijack the door in front of him.

It was as easy as the previous times, and due to unlocking the door, it automatically opened a path to a room.

They entered it, and then, there was somebody standing on the middle of the room talking to eidolons.

That somebody was a woman who had the same hair color as Milli, and the moment the door opener, she noticed Rance's party entering the room she was in.

"How did you get here?" The girl asked, almost shocked at their appearance, until she noticed Milli approaching her. It made her look annoyed at her.

"Milli nee-sama... God, why are you even here? Leave me alone!" She shouted at her.

"Mill, I cannot let you get away with all that you've done from earlier! We'll take you down and take you back to Custom by force!" Milli shouted back, with a stern expression that annoyed Mill more.

"You wish. You don't have enough power to stop me." Mill replied, folding her arms and shaking her head sideways.

Rance took out his [DEagle] and held it up, preparing for a battle that might come soon enough.

"Listen, Mill! That ring you are wearing would corrupt your heart, and the only way to save you is to let Rance do his job!" Maria tried to reason, but she was interrupted by Mill.

"Argh! Shut uuupp! You're all just getting in my way! How could that guy help me, anyway?" It was clear that Mill was in disbelief and denial, as she glared at the four of them with hate present around her. "Please, go home already!"

The moment Mill waved her hand, several tens, no, 35 eidolons appeared from thin air and began to surround the party, not letting them a chance to escape.

"Eidolon Magic, huh.... the power to summon eidolons from the void..." Rance spoke, "... It's actually the first time I've seen something like this in my life. Anyways...."

He ejected the magazine that has Hirara Ore rounds, put them into his coat where the reserve rounds are, and inserted the magazine back inside before taking out his [Ghost Buster Sword].

"Hmph! I hope you get eaten by my eidolons!" Mill spoke, before turning back and leaving this room.

"Hey, wait! We're not done talking yet!" Milli ran towards her sister, only to be stopped by an eidolon who smacked her back to Rance and Maria.

Rance, meanwhile, brandished both his weapons and began to move forward.

"Maria, Milli. Stand back. I'll take care of the eidolons myself." Rance spoke, as both Milli and Maria nodded, with the intent of observing him.

"[Aggro Focus]!" Rance shouted, as red energy bursted out from him and affected all the eidolons and made them shriek in anger and made them focus on attacking Rance. The spell is as simple as it's name: Make every single monster around him in a state of total blind rage towards him that they don't even notice anything but only Rance.

Obviously, you cannot physically damage eidolons as they are a type of spirit that can be destroyed using magic.

"Now that you're all focused on me, there's only one thing we can do: Let's dance!"

{ Cue BGM: N.M.H. (No More Heroes) }

Rance quickly slashed on the air with his sword, sending an arc of energy that cut through several eidolons and killing them immediately, before taking a backflip to avoid a few eidolons that were about to bite him.

He aimed the [DEagle] down, and with the use of magic, he fired several bullets that disintegrated five eidolons floating near the ground.

And then, he swung his sword sideways, as it clashed with an eidolon's claw twice before Rance cut it to half and disintegrated it with a downwards slash that sent himself back to the ground.

When he is on the ground, he immediately threw the [Ghost Buster Sword] like a boomerang towards the eidolons, ripping through them like a saw through some brittle sticks.

Aside from that, there were now only a single eidolon left, which was charging right towards Rance.

The said person pointed his gun towards the charging eidolon, before he pulled the trigger, sending a miniature White Destruction Beam to it.

"Job's done." He spoke, gesturing Milli and Maria to come with him to move further into the rooms until they meet Mill again.

He has a new plan with how to get the second Phil Ring, and it has to do something with Milli.
