Chapter 106 Crimson Sigil Guild

Chirping of multiple species of birds echoed throughout the forest.

"Hey Lee, Isn't Guild Leader taking longer than usual?" A blonde with long hair that's wearing a full set of leather armor asked.

"Don't ask me Shera, he might be savoring the feeling since the last first hunt we did was such a long time ago." Lee answered. "Just keep your eyes peeled for now. I don't want to get scolded later." he added.

Even though they were just a scout, a non combatant job they both are still veteran members of the Crimson Sigil Guild.

"Hey Lee." Shera said while her two pointing fingers touching each other.

"Wh-what now?" Lee shouted.

"N-nevermind, go rot in hell!" Shera shouted back.

Les just scratches his head at the mood swing of his scout partner.

The two scouts then just keep watch of the area without talking at each other.

Almost an hour passed by and the sun is starting to set.

"H-hey Lee..." Shera called once again.

"Wha..." Lee is prepare to retort back however once he turn around he saw a creature that shouldn't be here.

"Shera go now inform the elite members of our guild!" Lee shouted while drawing his dagger.

"B-but..."

"We don't have time for this, go now!" Lee shouted.

Shera flinches at the tone of his voice, even when they fought before he never raised his voice this much. Once she knows the severity of the situation, she turns around and started running at the nearest camp where the rest of the members of the Crimson Sigil Guild are resting.

'How is this monster here? What happened to Guild Leader Ezekiel?' Lee said inwardly without taking his sight at the creature that's in front of him. 'Wait, no, this is not the same monster.' he added when he notice a subtle difference in armor. His squad were responsible at keeping an eye at this creature for hours so after closely looking at it, he can tell its a different one.

"Impenendierre!" The humanoid creature with four tentacles by its mouth shouted. A black bolt then blast off from its mace.

The black bolt successfully hit Lee, unlike Ezekiel his agility and dexterity stats are not high enough to predict and dodge the trajectory of the projectile.

Lee flew a few distance before crashing into a tree.

Before the Illithid can deliver the finishing blow and harvest the brain of the knocked down scout, a barrage of arrows flies at its direction.

"Lee!" Shera shouted while panting. Behind her are 8 elite members of the Crimson Sigil Guild.

The 4 elite members chose to stay and save Lee while the other 4 head towards the cave where Ezekiel is fighting.

The 4 elite members that's heading towards where Ezekiel at are consist of a Paladin, a Royal Knight, a Hunter and an Arc Priest.

Since Shera already provided them a map layout of the cave they traverse the path with ease and precision.

After a few minutes seeping through the crevices that are large enough to fit a single human, the group finally arrive at a window-shaped rock formation.

The group immediately drops down, praying that their guild leader is safe.

However their prayers were not answered. What welcomed them at the bottom is Qrr'Askath and above him is Ezekiel bounded by four chains, one chain for each of his limb.

"Guild Leader!" The group shouted in unison.

Ezekiel is unresponsive.

The group shouted once again but this time the intensity of their voice is higher than the first.

However Ezekiel is still unresponsive.

"Its no use he's already dead, so you mortals can stop shouting now, its irritating my ears." Qrr'Askath announced.
