Chapter 16: The Gypsy
I simply could not help myself. Suddenly, I felt overcome with a wave of passion and boldness that far transcended my current way of being. “You… if I may say so, are truly otherworldly.” I desired to say so much more, but I found myself unable to breathe, quite suddenly, at that moment.
The gypsy, much to my surprise, was not dismayed at all. Rather, she silently laughed to herself, and said, “Dear girl, you must learn to control those passions, for when misdirected, or wrongly expressed, they can become quite dangerous.”
Part of me wanted nothing more than to shrivel up in a ball, seven shades of crimson, but another portion of me, the more conscious part, took her words quite as a compliment.
“Thank you kindly,” I muttered, smiling graciously, affectionately back at her.
