Flight or Flight>

The explosion was never welcoming, the sharp heightened of the senses just before everything became hazy left the eyes and ears clouded in hopes of getting adjusted before the show really went down.

The ground shook along with what seemed to be like every morsel that felt electric around them, and Felicity gritted her teeth as she ducked for cover despite not having much of a chance considering that there was nothing for them to hide behind.

Ducking and rolling to the ground to cover her head was the best that she could do, and Leo yanked her up to her feet by pulling her body up like a fresh turnip in season from her vest.

Vast and red-hot flames emerged from the crackling fence as a result of the fire and electricity meeting each other in a battle, and Felicity blinked rapidly as her hearing zoned back in.

"We need to get through now!" Leo yelled.

Felicity forced her feet to continue further before looking around for Melissa. "Where is Melissa?"

"She's over there," Leo pointed before cursing when the arrival of Obrien and his crew showed up around the corner with lovely guns to boot.

"We're too late," Felicity muttered. "We can't leave unscathed."

"It doesn't matter. We're going to be worse off here if we stay!" Leo growled.

Felicity ran over and grabbed Melissa's hand. "Go in first!"

Melissa bit her lip. "And run through fire?"

"We don't have a choice!" Felicity yelled. "Go!"

Melissa's eyes were glassy from the unshed tears of fear but dipped her head down in a nod. She sprinted the gap with the unknown on the other side, screaming in pain, but Felicity knew that the burns they will soon suffer will be better than any treatment that they would receive from Obrien.

The guards lifted their guns, and the red lasers fell onto her and Leo, following their motions closely.

"Freeze!" Obrien called.

Felicity looked over at Leo who had inched his way over to her. She breathed in deeply; the lingering scent of sweat, tears, and smoke glided over her senses.

"What do you want to do?" Felicity whispered. "We are on our last leg here."

She glanced back to see through the midst of the hot flames that Melissa had already run through the hole that they blew in the fence and was waiting on the other side with worry etched all over her face, and fear knowing that she herself could never get out alone alive.

Felicity took another breath before grasping the last bomb that Leo had which was hooked onto his bulletproof vest and pressed her finger over the button that was jammed to the side.

"Stop the bomb!" Obrien screamed.

Felicity smiled when she made eye contact with Obrien and tossed the explosive into the air. Leo suddenly barreled into her side, and her air was abruptly pushed out of her lungs as she grunted from the impact. She grasped tightly onto his sweatshirt and tried not to breathe the smoke and fire they were sprinting through.

Bullets fired at them, and Felicity screamed in shock from the feeling of the contact of the bullet to the vest. She honestly didn't know what she was expecting, but it felt so real.

The pain was still there though, but she pushed it out of her mind. They needed to get through this. They were so close.

The constant pattering of the deathly bullets scattered through the fence, and Melissa ran out of sight to try and escape the bullets that were flying through the holes of the metal fence.

Felicity ducked her head, but it was still intense with all the blood rushing to her head only in a fight or flight response. The bulletproof vest that she was wearing was certainly doing its job, but she felt the bullets impact her soul.

The flames they ran through for only a couple of seconds were unbearably scorching, and Felicity grunted out a muffled curse as her exposed skin was practically being baked.

Leo didn't seem to be in a good boat either, breathing harshly and getting them through since her legs were sluggish. She couldn't allow herself to be dead weight though, so she tried her best to walk and pace herself.

What was only a few seconds felt like a lifetime within that bubble, they were in which encompassed a scorching red shell around them. They made it over to the other side, and Felicity gasped for air while her eyes were stinging from the bright blue sky.

Leo wasn't stopping though, running further and further only to find that they were on a hill which they couldn't stop in time when they reached the edge.

"Wait! Leo! Stop!" Felicity yelled just as her weight followed the rules of gravity, and they tumbled down roughly down the hills of the grasslands.

Her world was spinning of green and black, but Leo's body was wrapped tightly around her, taking most of the hits until their ride eventually slowed to a stop at the base of the hill.

Her body and mind were still spinning, and Felicity bit out another muffled curse. Groaning, Leo pushed himself off her and pulled her up into a sitting position. She was so dizzy, and she pressed a hand to her head to try and get her bearings.

"Jesus," she muttered.

Leo brushed away the hair that was getting tangled in her face, and she met his eyes with her own widening. "We... made it."

"Never doubted that we wouldn't," Leo sighed.

"Where is Melissa?"

He motioned behind her, and she turned back to see Melissa sprawled on the ground in the same bad condition that they were in. Felicity sighed and opened her arms to hug Melissa tightly.

She patted Melissa's shoulder while Melissa softly cried into her own. "It's okay. We made it out. Now it's time to leave."

Leo got to his feet and brushed the dirt from his pants. Felicity put out her hand, and he pulled her up with Melissa still trying to gather herself.

Melissa wiped her cheeks with the back of her hand which was burnt raw. "I'm sorry. I can't stop crying."

"It's okay," Felicity said with her brows drawn in. "You're going to be okay."

Leo patted Melissa's back. "You did well. Now, it's time to get going."

Melissa nodded, and Felicity smiled. "You're so strong, Mel. Let's do well together. We're so close to getting home."
