Sickening Accompaniment

The blade sputtered from the weight or rather the raures that were likely getting stuck in between. Felicity didn't even want to visualize it, but it was likely proven to be true due to the amount of flesh of the raures that were flying off the sides of the helicopter in a bountiful amount that made her sick to her stomach.

"That's disgusting," Felicity muttered.

"Your right," Leo called just as Felicity plunged her sword into the raure that was sneaking up on them.

"What is even happening?" Felicity yelled as she caught sight of more raures falling from the sky.

Luckily, they hadn't encountered any raures with spikes on their tails, because if that were true, that would make fending them off the chopper ten times harder. She didn't know how many variations there were to the raures, but two was already good enough.

She ducked over when a raure jumped over her, and Leo spun around to slice the head off the raure causing more dust to flutter over them. Pivoting on her foot, Felicity slashed the next one on the list that was all coming at them systematically, but it didn't matter how many they got rid of.

Raures were pouring out of the sky. Her eyes widened, but there was no downtime. Her breaths were coming in raggedly, and her arms were feeling weighed down by her affinity weapon that kept sending shocks down her arm along with the weight of the world that had lodged itself over her shoulders.

What she wished wouldn't come made themselves present, and Felicity lunged forward to block the spikes that were pointed at Medina. The spikes deflected hitting the walls of the interior instead, getting the sharp material stuck there showcasing the deathly spear.

The sudden leap of the raure that got inside the cabin caught her off guard, and she crashed into Leo as she lost her footing dodging the attack. Leo lifted her around with his arm wrapped around her waist tightly as Felicity kicked the raure with her steel-toed boots smashing in their face.

Falling to her feet, Leo finished the raure off with a harsh impalement to the chest.

"Behind you!" Felicity yelled.

Leo twisted and caught most of the damage with his sword. Felicity jumped in and stabbed the creature in the back. The helicopter made a sharp incline, and Felicity and the raure toppled over into the seats and some crates.

Leo stabbed the pulmonary area and forced the blade down the length of the body with a sickening crunching sound to accompany it. Felicity pushed the nearby raure out of the helicopter, and they all slid when the chopper continued its sharp decline.

"I lost all control!" Tatum said.

Medina whipped around to the side, her reaction immediate and swift. "Everyone grab a life jacket!"

The life jackets were located underneath the seats as were most of the items, and Leo got down to pass out all of the life jackets that were buried underneath the other crates. Medina tossed them over to Tatum and Melissa in the cockpit while Felicity strapped hers on.

Tatum did his best to salvage the flight, but there was no changing their course ending. Sweat beaded on Felicity's forehead that immediately slid down the side of her face, the weight of it gone when she went to go wipe it away with the back of her hand.

Medina rummaged through the other equipment and placed it all into rustic backpacks to distribute for the worst-case scenario of being lost at sea as more crates continued to slide right out of the helicopter that couldn't be saved.

Felicity was still fighting off raures amidst it all with Medina and Leo having a high chance of also falling out with the crates. She gripped Leo's arm since she needed him to stay aware of his surroundings rather than looking down. There was too much to lose in a moment like this.

"Are there any parachutes?" Leo yelled over his shoulder.

Medina grunted as she kicked a raure in the stomach before finishing it off. "If you can't find it, they are already somewhere in the ocean."

"That's quite helpful," Felicity said sarcastically.

The helicopter kept spiraling down, and she screamed when she saw their impending doom getting closer, the dark, swirling mass looking blacker as they approached from above. Even from afar, Felicity was able to see something in the sky that wasn't the engyure.

"The backup helicopters are getting dragged into this mess too," Tatum muttered. "They're here to help though. We'll likely meet them down below."

"Let's see if we can figure this out when we're in the ocean," Medina growled.

"Ah, let's not say that," Felicity said as she hiked the backpack further up her back.

Medina quickly slipped zip ties through the loops of the backpack on Felicity and Leo's arms. She secured them before pulling back and rushing to do the same to the others in the cockpit.

Felicity's vision was washed red, and the golden shimmers ran pink as they continued to fall in tune with the helicopter. At this point, Tatum yanked off his headpiece and slammed it to the controls of the helicopter, the silent crash amidst the large screeching of metal was heard.

He wasn't playing when he lifted his dark eyes that had a crimson hue as he jumped out of his seat rousing Melissa to suddenly do the same. "Everyone. Get ready to jump at the same time."

The verdict wasn't as surprising as the raures that kept on coming with no end. Felicity bit back a comment as she dipped her head in understanding, only for Leo to whip to the side, and she banged into the wall with too much force, it left her feeling sore in her left arm.

"Ah, I thought that we were going to do a new combo hit," Felicity said leisurely as she smacked her lips together.

"The one with me spinning you was good," he snickered.

She laughed despite their dire situation. "We should start naming them."
