I watched Xenon drive off as I clutched the paper he gave me in my hand, my heart was hurting in my chest and I wasn’t sure how to take in my new found feelings, why did I feel so broken up over the fact that I would never see him again? Why didn’t I ask him not to leave? Why did I not want him to leave? What was going on in my head? I didn’t understand any of this.

Looking down at the paper in my hand, he had wrote down the address of the house that he was at and at the bottom of the paper… he had wrote ‘I love you.’

I felt nauseous and a part of me didn’t even want to go inside the house where my family waited for me, I didn’t even know how to feel knowing that I had the freedom to walk back through those doors, I had the freedom of holding my parents in a long and warm embrace, something I had been wanting for a long time now, so why was it that I was so unhappy? Why did I feel like I didn’t belong here?
