The police came and went, asking questions, repeating the same old phrases, trying their best to get answers out of me to help identify the thieves that had robbed the bank where I was taken hostage.

‘I didn’t see their faces, they wore masks around me.’

That was the only answer I was willing to give them and it was the only one that I kept on repeating over and over again, every statement they took, it had those same exact words. I was mentally and physically exhausted, I needed them to leave me alone but instead, they did absolutely everything they could to get me to say anything else to them but to their misfortune, I wasn’t going to turn them in, even if they deserved to be locked up behind bars, I wasn’t going to be the one to put them there. Two of them were already dead because of me, I wasn’t going to betray the remaining four.
