Chapter4

#Chapter4

/"Hell yeah, prom time baby./" Keira yelled as her and Keisha barged into my room.

Keira decided that she wanted to get dressed in my room while the guys got dressed in Aaron's room.

Even though I have been waiting all school year to enter the ball room wearing my sexy yet elegant prom dress, accompanied by the the most handsome man of all time, things will be going a little differently tonight.

I sat at the vanity mirror, admiring how graceful Maya tended to my hair. The vanity dresser was a complete cluttered, covered in hair clips, pins, flat iron, curling wond, flexi rods, and hair sprays.

/"Finished./" Maya smiled.

I looked closely, admiring the soft bouncy curls that framed my face. She even did an exceptional job on my makeup, giving my eyes a smokey look. My skin looked perfectly flawless with a smooth cover of foundation. My lips were covered in a clean cover of red lipstick. I looked amazing thanks to Maya's artistic hands.

/"Thank you soooo much./"

/"No problem. Now go get dressed ladies./" She pushed me toward my bathroom.

The last one to get dressed, I ran into my bathroom and slipped my dress on cautiously, avoiding any accidents of rips or stretches. Thankfully, I managed to get the dress on carefully and safely.

I walked out of the bathroom, only to be greeted with smiles and excitements from Maya, Keira, and Keisha.

/"You guys look beautiful./" Maya faked a cry.

Keira was wearing a short green dress that was tight and framing at the top and wild and fluffy at the bottom. She had a light touch of green eye shadow and a little foundation with a natural-color lipstick. Her hair was bone straight and her shoes were a silver color.

Keisha had on a long rose pink dress. It was a one strap dress that was decorated with a few diamonds in the front and it flowed gracefully to her feet. Her hair was pinned up with a few curls. Her makeup was done to give her an natural glow and her shoes were a pinkish-white color.

/"You look great too./" Keisha hugged me.

I was wearing a long red dress that had one diamond encrusted strap. There were a few diamond and stones on the dress for design and decor.

I stepped forward, expanding the train of the dress that followed gracefully behind me.

/"You ladies look beautiful./" Maya cheered and smiled.

/"Thanks./"

The door creaked open and Jason walked in.

/"You're not suppose to be in here. And why are you not dressed?/" Maya tried to push and shove Jason out of the room but she had no luck.

/"This IS my room and Im not dressed because I'am not going./"

/"WHAT?/" She spat. /"You have to go. Its your Luna's prom. /"

/"Maya./" She turned and looked at me. /"Jason and I decided that he will not be attending with me./"

/"Why not?/" She asked worriedly.

/"Because I have decided to find another date to accompany me. You./"

/"What? You're joking? No no no no. Im not going to prom./"

/"Yes you are./"

/"I have nothing. No shoes, no dress, my hair is all crazy, no makeup. I cant. Sorry./"

/"Keisha is going to do your hair and makeup. Keira has found you some beautiful shoes and I have taken the liberty of sneaking back over to that prom store yesterday./"

I ran over to my closet and pulled out a yellow, heart neckline dress. It was strapless and elegant, reaching down to the floor.

I looked at Maya for confirmation on the dress and by the way her face lit up and her eyes watered, I knew I did good.

/"W-why?/" She asked.

/"Because even though the guys have been driving you insane, you have still managed to help me. Help us. When you told me you couldn't share one of the happiest moments of a teenage girl's life, thats when I choose who I wanted to take with me./"

/"You're o-okay with this?/" She looked at Jason.

/"If it gets me out of a suit and tie then yeah./" He laughed. /"And I know she has you to watch her so Im fine with it./"

/"Soo?/" I held up the dress, shaking it around for her answer. Anticipating clouded the room before she finally responded.

/"Okay!/" She smiled.

/"Yay./" we cheered like preppy high-school cheerleaders. /"Now stop crying so we can get your makeup. Ladies, lets make this quick./"

******

/"Will you calm down?/" I whispered to Maya.

/"Okay. Okay./"

The car came to halt and we stepped out. The entrance walkway to the ballroom was draped with a red carpet.

A hand touched my back so gently, sending a chill of excitement up my spine.

/"I will pick you two up later. Okay?/"

/"Okay./" He attempted to kiss me but I pulled away. /"You're going to ruin my make up too./"

/"Sorry./" He held his hands up in surrender.

It took me an extra few minutes to reapply my makeup after my mother smothered me with kisses and hugs before we left the pack house.

/"Have fun./" He sat back in the car. /"Not that much fun./" He growled.

/"Okay./" I gripped Maya's hand as Keira and Aaron followed with Keisha and AJ behind them.

/"Holy hell your hands are sweaty./" I joked.

/"Im just..nervous./" She mumbled.

Stepping in the entrance of the ballroom, we were greeted with flashing lights and camera. I was enjoying it. The theme of tonights prom was 'red carpet event'.

Maya's grip on my hand tightened as she took a step back, shielding herself from the camera.

/"Maya? Just relax./"

She looked at me wryly then nodded her head. She took a nervous step forward, welcoming the flashing lights and photographers.

I wrapped my arms around Maya's neck and smiled into the camera. Finally, she eased up and joined me in the fun. We struck different poses as we smiled and made absurd faces. Suddenly Keira, Aaron, Keisha, Aj, and Aaron joined in the fun.

We must have taken over a hundred photos before we finally decided to stop and move along. We walked into the ballroom laughing and joking then stopped in awe once we saw the ballroom.

It was beautifully decorated. The floor was covered in a dazzling red carpet. The tables were covered in a white, red, and gold decor. People were spread all over dance floor as others drunk punch and talked.

/"Im parched./" Maya laughed.

/"Punch?/"

/"Sure./"

/"Ill be right back./" I walked past the many bodies and approached the refreshment table. I poured two cups of punch and sat them down to pick up one of the delicious looking treats that was settling on the table.

/"Mmmm./" I groaned, stuffing the mini vanilla iced cupcake in to my mouth. The sprinkles fell down my dress but I didn't care. This cupcake was fucking amazingly good.

/"Good?/" A voice asked. I turned to see Carl.

/"Amazing./" I laughed. I looked at him. He dresses up nicely. I noticed he was alone and I was curious to where is date was. /"Wheres your date?/"

/"Shes...around./" He laughed. /"Wheres yours?/" He looked around the ballroom.

/"Well my date is-/" A menacing growl stopped me in mid-sentance, forcing me to clear my throat to drown out the growls.

/"Are you okay?/" He asked.

/"Fine./" I pushed pass him and stood in front of Maya who happened to look furious as hell. Her eyes darkened as she looked pass me and stared at Carl.

/"Maya. Calm down./" I whispered.

Her eyes shifted to me and softened.

/"Is something wrong?/" Carl asked.

/"Fine./" I turned to look at him. /"This is my date for the night. Maya./"

/"Hi Maya?/" Carl extended his hand.

/"Touch me and I brake it./"

/"OKAY!/" A nervous laugh escaped me as I began pushing Maya away. /"Enjoy your night Carl./"

/"Hey Aniyah?/" He called out.

/"Yes?/" I turned to look at him.

/"Just...save me the last dance. Cool?/"

Another growl escaped Maya as she attempted to turn to face Carl.

/"Okay. Okay./" I yelled out, completely focused on getting Maya away from him.

/"What the hell was that?/" I pushed her into the bathroom.

/"Nothing./"

/"So what was with the growling and evil looks?/" I questioned.

/"Jason warned me of him. How he likes you. How he adores you./"

/"So you decide to be so harsh because the guy has a harmless crush on me?/"

/"Jason gave me orders to break any limb of his if he decides to get to close or touchy-feely./"

Orders? He gave Maya orders to watch me like an insane body guard? This jealousy shit was getting out of hand.

/"Now heres my orders.../" Her eyes widen as she looked at me. /"This is my night. Matter of fact, it is OUR night. This is not the time to play chaperone or body guard, its the night to have fun. If I decide to talk or associate with anyone, it is my decision. So you will not stop me or harm anyone here tonight. Okay?/"

She seemed to be hesitant about following my wishes but she had no other choice. I hate using my whole 'Luna' title over them but I believe it was necessary. I wanted everyone to have fun tonight so I knew this was the only way.

/"Yes./" She whimpered.

I pulled her into a hug and told her she was an amazing, hardworking girl who needed to just relax and enjoy herself tonight.

We walked out of the bathroom and joined the party, putting away the work, and bringing in the fun.

**********

By the end of the night, everyone was dancing so hard they were ready to die out.

Maya was in the middle of the dance floor doing some weird robot with Aj and another girl. I felt so embarrassed but I couldn't help but laugh at them. They looked like fools but they were having much needed fun.

I sipped on a can of soda, avoiding the punch since someone managed to spike it earlier.

/"Your friends are amazing dancers./" Carl walked up to me.

/"They're....interesting dancers./" The crowd surrounded Aaron and Aj , cheering them on as they battled each other.

It was horrible but hilarious.

The loud, fast music finally stopped, only to be replaced by a softer, smoother song.

/"This is the last song of the night ladies and gents./" The Dj announced.

I noticed Keira and Aaron were cuddled up together dancing. Keisha and AJ managed to disappear, but I didn't care where..and I definitely didn't care why.

Maya managed to pull one of the football jocks to the dance floor and danced with him. I could tell the spike punch got to her just a little.

/"Someone promised me the last dance./"

I looked up at his shining eyes that were locked onto me.

/"I did? Oh yeah, I did. Okay./"

I walked out to the dance floor with him on my heels. I turned and looked at him, wrapping my arms around his shoulder as his hands rested on my waist.

It felt extremely weird having him touch me but the song wasn't that long. Hopefully.

/"So where is your amazing date?/" I spoke with extreme sarcasm in my tone of voice.

/"Shes somewhere in here./" His eyes settled on mine, careless about even looking around to find her.

Okay this getting awkward.

I broke the awkward eye contact and looked else where, focusing on the others who were dancing, hugging, and kissing.

More awkward.

I cleared my throat and decided to find something to focus on. The gold statue. Good. I stared at it, examining every detail of the gold colored statue that looked like a large award.

/"You look beautiful tonight./"

/"Thank you./" My skin was on fire. Not from blushing, but more nervous to how Jason would react if he was here.

/"Aniyah?/" He placed his index under my chin and raised my head to look at him. His eyes shined at me, watching my every move, admiring every detail of my face.

Suddenly, the distant, the gap between us closed. The air around me was growing thin as panic was beginning to set in. His lips were caressing mine, gently brushing against my red lipstick lips ever so gently.

I was stuck, motionless, shocked. He's kissing me? He's fucking kissing me. I was stuck, unable to push or kiss back. My eyes were wide as I stared up at him, his eyes closed as he tried to deepen the kiss.

Finally I snapped out of it and pushed him away. I glared at him. Furious with his disgusting actions. How could he? Why? I wiped my lips, erasing every trace of his lips from mine.

He stood there, staring at me with a sly smirk. It was like he was satisfied with his actions, like he was contented with the kiss.

I wanted to pull off my heels and lodge one into his skull. My sight of him vanished as a green blur stepped in front of me.

/"What the hell is going on?/" Keira's back was turned to me as she sent deathly glares Carl's way.

/"N-nothing./" I lied.

The last thing I wanted was our big night to end with a man being slaughtered to pieces.

/"Goodnight all you graduates. Congratulation and good luck./" The Dj ended the song of the night.

/"Lets just go./" I pulled Keira toward the exit that was flooded with people attempting to get out.

Kiera shot him one more threatening look before she turned to walk with me. I was furious and pissed and by the look on Keira's face, so was she. Her eyes switched from her normal color to a darkening color.

Suddenly she tensed up. Her facial expression switched from anger to down right fear. She looked at me worriedly as she pushed pass the drunken prom goers.

Walking outside the clean air brushed against my face. It felt good to smell fresh air. Being in that ball room was beginning to suffocate me.

I followed behind Keira until she suddenly stopped, forcing me to bump into her.

/"What the hell? Why did you stop?/" I walked around her, catching a glimpse of what stopped her dead in a tracks.

In the parking lot was Aaron, Aj, and Maya. Their eyes narrowed at me, they looked absolutely furious. My heart nearly stopped and a large lump formed in my throat. My palms became sweaty with nervousness and my skin began to heat up.

Jason.

Furiously, he looked toward me.

/"Keira, whats happening? Are they mad at me?/"

She turned and looked at me, her eyes filled with fear and nervousness.

/"No./"

/"Then whats going on?/"

/"Jason knows about the kiss./"

Holy shit. How? Why did I even ask how, for god sakes this man had werewolves spread out in this ballroom like the secret service.

Their piercing eyes left mine and focused on something, or someone. I turned, catching a glimpse of Carl standing by a nearby car with a few other people.

Jason walked pass me, his eyes set on one person and one person only. So much for a perfect night. Jason walked up to him and hit him, the sound of his fist connected with Carl's face, sending a loud crunch sound into my ears.

Carl attempted to punch him back but Jason stopped him, gripping his fist in the palm of his hand.

/"You go near her, touch her, or even speak to her again.../" Jason's hands tightened around Carl's fist. Carl's eyes widen with fear as he watched his fingers and hand break and crumble under Jason's hands. /"I will fucking kill you without a second thought./"

He released Carl's hand and watched him fall to his knees and grip his broken hand. Blood oozed from his broken nose and his eye began to turn blue.

I was stuck, left to watch this all. Embarrassment creeped up my spine as everyones eyes watched me.

Jason walked away. He walked toward Aaron and dropped something into his hand and took off running down the road.

What the hell was that? I flinched away as a touch brushed against my arm.

/"Come on./" Maya spoke. I turned and walked to the car and got in. Aaron pulled off and I couldn't help but replay tonights events.

Prom? I hate it.
