Beg-in

Fifteen minutes later.

Yan slowly slurped the last of the ramen that he had ordered and drunk the broth.

"Mother made it better."

He tossed the empty bowl into the dustbin and took a Spirit Cleansing Pill.

The moment the pill entered his stomach, it seemed to disappear while releasing a warm after feeling in its wake.

The pills had no requirement on the uptake and he could take it anytime he wanted to. It was a supplement and even if Yan was to take the entire bottle of pills, he would not be harmed in any way.

He also won't get the effects of all the pills as well and it would become a waste.

"Let's start the cultivation (soul branding) again."

Yan re-started the unfinished cultivation technique imprinting on his soul.

Once the cultivation technique was completely imprinted on his soul, and his soul has been soul branded, he can then use the mystical words that ware imprinted into his soul to store the spiritual energy that was in the surroundings with the mystical words allowing his soul to store the spiritual energy and improve and nourish itself.

As he progressed more into his cultivation and completely filled his soul with enough spiritual energy that it has no other way but to evolve into a higher form to hold more energy, he will then become a Martial Master.

Someone whose soul had reached the limit of sentience and has enough spiritual power to break free of the mortal limits of the vessel that it has been placed into, that is the peak limit of Martial apprentice realm.

One more step and the moment the soul is free from the body through it's evolution into a higher and complete state, a state where his soul can impact the world through his spiritual power (telekinesis), then he is in the Martial Master Realm.

Or that he is a Martial Master at that point.

A master Master, according to the few ads and magazines that he had read, can lift a heavy load truck with just his mind alone. While peak Martial masters can telekinetically lift hundreds of buildings with a thought.

"Quite a big goal that I have."

Yan thought as he absorbed the first wisp of the spiritual energy around him. It was such a low amount that he didn't even feel it.

"By this rate, I would need quite some time before I can become a Martial Master. Going with plan H was the best thing."

He mumbled.

In his current state, he can only absorb the spiritual energy around him. The spiritual energy will nourish his soul and just his soul.

Only when he is in the Martial Master Realm can he turn the absorbed spiritual energy into spiritual power, his spiritual power, and can project it to the outside world.

"But even Martial Master Realm doesn't enhance physique of the martial practitioner's, although they don't need use their physique that much since can they just use their spiritual power to do everything that they want."

"It's basically telekinesis to begin with, wrap it around you and you have protection, use it to fly and just throw things at each other."

"But thankfully, this all changes with the usage of martial combat techniques and arts. Although I am not given any for free."

Yan looked in the storage belt and it really had no combat techniques in it. Seems like he had to buy it himself.

"But I really wonder if things are as simple as I say? There are quite a lot of things that are different from what I expected and these just seem to be the tip of the iceberg."

"For now, my current beginner Martial apprentice status in debt doesn't help a lot. To be precise, it a demerit to have it."

"My strength is, I just nearly died from a three storey fall and I am not that athletically fit and my reaction speed is only good in video games."

"What I am going to do is going to get a lot of enmity from, lets just say, everyone. I have to survive them... How?"

"Strength I don't have. Relationships - Everyone that I knew died ten days ago. Any backing or background... None. I don't have the looks or I wouldn't have minded selling myself to someone strong."

"It all boils down to being smart then."

He mumbled while looking at the balcony.

"Nah, not smart but needed. I just need to be needed. Needed enough that they will have second thoughts before doing anything to me."

"Heh, how though?"

"It all comes down to the first question. Let's... I have the money from the student loan, I can buy a better cultivation techniques with it but my personal strength increase isn't going to help me."

"I can't win against those that have been practicing and putting their efforts into cultivation for their whole lives. I just don't have the aptitude to do so."

"Then I will just be myself as I have always been."

[Open- Shop › Martial Weapon » sort by Rarity › Descending order]

The shop list opened in his sight and Yan looked at all the different tiers of weapons that were available.

He looked at the prices and checked the forum for the most needed weaponary.

Prices that were enough to buy countries floated in front of him.

"Not that calm a world when the weapons market is booming like this. Haah, that's why I wanted to begin with. Who's my grandfather now?"

A sadistic smile formed on his face as he kept looking at the shop and the forums.

.... .....

[Timeskip]

Three months and 10 days later.

Yan looked at the bright sunlight that nearly gave him a tan and thought about the future.

Well he had already thought about it in the last few months. He was just taking a final take of how to achieve greatness.

As for his cultivation. It wasn't a complete turndown because the pills saved months of cultivation practice and he had advanced quite high.

Currently he was more than halfway on filling his soul with spiritual energy. Four months more and he will be a Martial Master.

"Till the time, I can afford another bottle of Spirit Cleansing Pills. The previous one had been emptied already."

Yan thought while looking at the passing by cities in his eyes.

"Nice view."

He commented. Currently he was flying to Zone 26.

"It indeed is. The Martial Union completely rebuilt the whole place in just a month. Now it's full of life again."

The driver responded.

"Yeah. No one would think that this place vaporised into nothingness just four months ago."

Yan casually added.

"It was a shock to all. That incident I mean. The terrorists had been able to attack more than 12 different areas causing massive casualties. I heard it was above two hundred thousand people. The government really is sold out. Pesky humans who don't know what's good for them."

The driver calmly said. It was as if he was sure of what he was saying.

"So everyone knows about it."

Yan said.

"Except the normal people, yeah everyone knows about it. If not for the fact that the nearby Martial Masters helped to stop the terrorists and even rescued the normal people around them, the loses would have easily reached millions."

"All because of those pesky humans that wanted to defy their fate and to be like us, they even allowed those terrorists to perform human experiments."

The Driver continued.

"But don't worry about it too much. All of them had been purged by the Martial Union. Now everyone's safe."

"My 'everyone's' already dead."

Yan replied.

"Ohh! Sorry to bring bad memories."

The Driver hastily apologized to Yan.

"You don't need to and please focus your attention in the front." [Yan]

"... Did they die in the incident?"

The driver asked after sometime.

"Yeah." [Yan]

"My condolences. You are a calm kid, going to the Shen Hai to fulfill the loan agreements."

The Driver changed the topic as talking anymore about it can pain the young man.

"I am. How do you know?" [Yan]

"You are a Martial Apprentice, going to your university a full two months before the date, on the same date that all the debt ridden students had to attend their Martial universities. It had become a common sight."

"Let me tell you, you think the universities give money as immediate loans at no interest may sound like angels to young guns but it is all a fraud."

"Money or should I say normal people's currency has no actual value to the Martial world. Any Martial Master affiliated with either the government or the Martial Union or the various other institutions, had benefits that exceeds money or Yuan."

"Yuan or any of the normal currency is of no value to Martial masters. What they actually need is Martial currency but you will learn that in Shen Hai later."

"What I wanted to say that if any of the martial institutions offer you a job that gives Yuan or any other normal currency, don't take that job. You are basically scammed as the only things you can buy with those are the beginners items or exchange it for another mode of monetary affiliation. You will learn that on your own later."

"Most of the Martial institutions like to prey on the young lads who haven't seen the world and fool them like this. Always remember, never take a job which offers human currency."

"As a Martial Master, they are only a few things that you can use them on and those are trash."

The Driver said while stopping the Soul cab.

"We are here."

"That's fast."

"It took me three hours. How's that fast? Well, a normal plane would have taken days so yeah definitely faster than them."

The Driver responded.

"Just asking, if normal money isn't useful then why are the items in the Martial Net tagged with Yuan. I have seen items worth Quadrillions on it."

Yan asked.

"That's because, that's the currency that you have your Martial Net set to. So of course the items will be shown with how much worth they are in the currency that you have chosen. Just change it to Z."

[Pronounced the same as Dragon Ball's Z]

The Driver said while dropping off Yan.

"What does it mean?"

Yan asked.

"Don't know. No one knows, it was adopted from the ancient civilization. Good luck."

The soul cab left after saying this.

"And I can see the cab even now."

Yan muttered to himself.

He looked at the magnificent walls with a gate sign that read.

Shen Hai.

"Time to start."
