Reason for Shen Hai 1

Shen Hai University. Zone 26.

Shi Yan entered the university premises without any checkings.

No one stopped him, not were there any guards around the gate.

"Quite lax security."

He wondered and began to wander around the place.

What he didn't know was that the school gate had a formation that allowed the students, teachers and other registered staff to enter the academic ground.

The utility belt and the students Martial cards are the indicators that the formation checks to allow the entry of the students and the walls were also equipped with hidden cameras that was being checked by the security forces of the Shen Hai 24/7.

Due to all these, using people to guard the gate when they had such a system was a waste of resources.

Furthermore, those people that didn't have any appointments or a way to show their affiliation to the academy were generally teleported to the information hub, which was guarded by the main security council of the Shen Hai and Martial Union. None of them having a lower strength than Martial Ancestors. The rank above Martial Elder realm.

.....

After wandering around the area for an hour. Shi Yan found nothing not trees, public benches, students flying and lots of greenery.

So he went towards registration area to register himself as a freshman student. That way he can get his dorm room and cafeteria pass, soon this dorm address and room information was added into his martial card's student information panel along with his student Identification number.

He checked his dorm address and then checked the Shen Hai interface to pinpoint exactly where it was.

His Martial Card adhered to his will and the map of the Shen Hai Academy seemed to open in his mind.

This was the open provided by the Shen Hai academy to the new students.

He quickly found the first years dorms and it was 96 kilometres away from him.

"?"

Yan read the map again and it was still 96 kilometres away.

How big is this place?

Yan looked at the distance that he had to travel for his dorm and decided to not live in his dorm because he had many options now.

Yan looked at the various villas and hotels that were available to the students and checked the guidelines to see if he was eligible to live in them.

Since his previous incidents, reading manuals had become a must-do hobby of his.

After reading the manual, he found that he can choose to live in any of the hundreds of hotels or villas that were 'in the university' but at a price. The same with the food that he wanted to eat. He can eat in front the cafeteria or in any of the restaurants that was in the vicinity of the Shen Hai University or in the cafeteria.

Although with prices that a debtee like him didn't even bear to look at.

"But why in the world do they have hotels and restaurants inside the university? University's business or something else?"

After looking at the prices of the food and shelter, Yan had realised the importance of being rich. If he doesn't have any money in the Shen Hai, then he will have to live in his far away dorm and eat the suspicious normal free food from the far away cafeteria.

His life seems to be filled with money problems and he had to do something about it.

He asked the person in the registration area about the debtee students, which at that time was a stupid question to ask as except debtees, no other freshman would be in the university at that time.

The person at the registration area politely solved his confusions and sent him to the Task Area.

What Yan had to do was simple. He just needed to take on the tasks that he wanted and he would get credits for them. The more tasks he completed, the more credits he will have. He can use those credits to exchange for the Yuan that he borrowed at the rate that was set by the Martial Union for their university, that is, 1:1000.

A credit per thousand Yuan and 1 credit = thousand Yuan.

But here comes the catch, since Shi Yan was a debtee, there was a small penalty to him. His exchange ratio was 1:100

1 credit = 100 Yuan.

The loan had to be paid with the money earned through the exchange of credits to Yuan.

Meaning he had to earn 20k credits in the least to fulfill the loan agreement.

Meaning he would have to earn ten times his loan amount.

The academy gave him a loan of 2 million Yuan, out of which 1.4 M Yuan were given to the Martial Union for his hospitalisation and penalty.

The remaining 600k were kept along with the 500k that were given to him by the government for the death of his family.

He donated his parents house to someone needy or he would have more.

He only had 1.2 million left. He thought that he just needed to take in another 800k and he would be debt free but regarding the current situation, he now has to pay an equivalent of 20 million Yuan.

And here came the second catch.

And he can't use money to buy credit in his debtee status.

Meaning that till the time he didn't pay the loan, he can't use his 1.2 million Yuan to buy credit.

"I hate Blood taker."

"The Universities want you to understand that everything has a price and you should be ready to pay it. Or you can't become smart and learn other ways."

The person said with a cheerful smile adorned on her face.

Yan looked at her and left for the Tasks Area.

"So that's why he said that."

He remembered the words of the soul cab driver.

....

Task Area

"Why in the world is there no means of transport if the Task Area is 19 kilometres away from registeration Area?"

Yan said while panting. He looked like he was on death's door.

"I don't know why as well bud. But I think you are the only person who had said that since I started working here."

The old man said while flying to the Task Area.

He had found Yan lying weakly in the ground and decided to help him.

Yan looked at the old man who was giving him a free lift. He wanted to say a lot but even breathing was painful to him.

"You know bud, most of the martial apprentice at least practice a single body training arts, a combat art, a defence art and a recovery art. That's the basic that literally 80% of the freshman that came here have in common."

"Secondly, all the students that had become a Martial apprentice trained their body as much as they could. You..."

"You are the first person who had none of the two. Students at least have one of them but you... you haven't even brought a better cultivation technique. Are you that poor kid? Did you use the loan for your family or something? Do you have a lot of siblings, maybe sick parents or is it a problem of courting? Well young people these days."

The old man continued asking but when he didn't get any answers, he decided to look at Shi Yan and found him still heaving deeply.

The Old man sped up and reached the Task Area. He dropped Shi Yan slowly and then asked.

"Just how weak are you bud?"

Yan tried to shake his hands to signify that he wasn't weak but he still couldn't fully control his body after his long walk of nearly four hours.

His body was just that weak.

10 Minutes later.

"Thanks Old man. I ain't weak. I just never exercised before. Thanks for the help."

Shi Yan was finally able to talk and thanked the Old man.

The Old man could have left but he didn't and waited for Shi Yan to recover, that alone showed his good heart.

"Well don't need to thank me, there is no one else who needed my help more than you. Just an advice, you should learn some body training arts. Normally most of the students have toned and fit physique, even if they haven't learnt any type of martial techniques but... well everyone has their situation."

"Here, I transferred some credits to you, use it to buy some good body training arts. "

The Old man said as Yan felt the credit deposited into his Martial card.

"You don't need to, Old man. You already helped me enough."

Yan said to the Old man but his reply shut him up.

"I have been working here since the start of the Shen Hai, kid. I have never seen a kid with a physique as weak as you. Don't let today repeat itself or it would be a waste if a Martial Apprentice died on his way to the classes due to physical strain."

"Keep it. You need it more than anyone else in the Shen Hai or its 60 years of history."

The Old man said and disappeared, leaving Yan with no choice.

"But really, why the heck everyone disappears when they can fly like Superman?"

Yan looked at the credits deposited into his student account.

2450 credits.

He checked the shop and the lowest of the Body Training Arts was at 1200 credits.

He kept looking at the various Body strengthening Arts.

"I can buy a decent Body Arts with this amount but 2450 credits. I will think about it later after I have looked at the quests in the Task Area."

Shi Yan entered the Task Area and there was no one to go to.

It was just full of students who were scrambling and shouting nonsensical things that he couldn't understand.

"Just use your Martial card to scan the imprint on the ceiling and you will be able to see and understand what they are saying."

Suddenly, a femenine voice came into his mind causing him to internally freak out.

Yan calmed himself and looked at the ceiling. His Martial card, being a part of him, scanned the imprint through his eyes and the next moment, he could see the multitudes of panels that were floating in the air while the sounds of the students became easily understandable.

"We need someone to attack the Wasp Noir. Price negotiable."

"Someone wants to take the group task Gargantuan spider slaying. The quest price is 45,000 credits per person."

"Ask rose to come. She needs to come."

"Anyone wants to challenge the unexplored region of the Sarvyoon Valley."

"Xing Group needs some people with investigation skills."

"Anyone wants to go to zone 3."

Yan ignored the voices and looked at the thousands of quests that were floating in the surroundings.

"Extermination Task. Sphinx Liger in the Reisaz region. 1.9 M credits."

"Survey Task. Survey the new area Cinnabon plateaus. 12 M credits."

"Logistics Task. Change the tires of 120 Loading trucks. 230 Credits."

"Herbology Task. Cut the 7 miles of shrubbery and weeds in the fourth years Spiritas Area. 490 credits per person."

"Gathering Task. Gathering 1200 spink pine berries from the Cyver Area. 200k Credits."

"Tutor Task. A tutor in Spear Arts. 24 k credits per hour."

"Odd Task. Help Jenny to cast away her boredom. 7K credits."

Yan looked at the equally nonsensical task panel and then chose seventeen of them to do.

Most of them were simple errands by the second and third years like cutting weeds, writing apology letters and most of all, writing rejection letter with cuss words anonymously.

Except for one.

"Workman Task. Need students to load and unload 20 trucks worth of cargo. Location - Zone 17. Long task. 5k credits per person."

Yan looked at the task acceptance mail that appeared in front of his eyes and smiled.

This task was the whole reason why he chose Shen Hai University to begin with.

"Thanks Aniki. It's still here."

He looked at the date of the mission: 13 July.q

"Now I just need to finish the 16 jobs, get enough credits and become a free man with no debt."
