CHAPTER 69

Mona wiggled her hands as she stepped into the study; she tried to steady her breath to prevent Dylan from noticing her fear. The moment Mark had seen her back to the packhouse, she had decided to meet with the Alpha and explain things to him. It seemed like the appropriate time to let her go.

As she walked further in, the room felt suffocating, "you don't have to look so scared." Her wolf whispered to her.

"I have got work to do. It would be nice if you get on with whatever brought you here." Dylan's voice rang, startling her.

She took a deep breath, "I came to tell you about myself and Mark."

Dylan snorted, "what's there to tell? What I saw was enough for me to be aware of you both."

Mona shook her head, "not because of that. I mean I have finally found a mate, a man who wants me. I believe Mark would be able to protect me, which implies there is no need for you to feel responsible for me any longer. He would take it up from here."
