CHAPTER 41

I can't help but to look at his lips while talking and I have to swallow the lump in my throat. "I was just taking a shower." My voice came out so weak that he wouldn't able to hear me if our faces aren't inches away from each other.

His whole face crumpled so I have to inhale my fit of laughter. "But I was calling you and trying to open the door for over thirty minutes. You weren't answering me."

That's when I finally let out of my laugh, slightly shaking my head and relaxing my body at the cold wall. "I fell asleep, and you could've use a key to open the door, or just ask for your guards help."

I swear this was the calmest way I have talked with someone and I just can't understand myself. Maybe because I'm still sleepy or this was the least hassle day for me. For the first time, I haven't overworked myself. I haven't overthink of my haunted past and I haven't blamed myself for what I am today.
