She tried moving again, but then she popped her eyes open when the hold tightened again, squeezing the skin on her waist, although it wasn't painful.
She snapped her eyes open and looked down immediately. She was startled to see a hand around her waist. She quickly pushed herself up as she slowly looked at her side to see who the hand belonged to. Her mouth fell open when she caught sight of the male god in her bed.
What is he doing here? She asked inwardly as she kept her eyes on him. He was so breathtaking that it bothered her. Yet, what bothered her the most was that he was in her room, so she believed. She still looked at him as her expression changed from a frown to a look of awe, and she had no idea when she leaned down as she tried to read more details of his handsome face. Knowing quite well that she'll never get that opportunity to look at him like this again.
Was this really her husband? She knew he was handsome, but why hasn't she noticed how good-looking he was?
But then she remembered why, and she suddenly frowned. She was disgusted with herself for even thinking he was handsome. She tried withdrawing her hand slowly from his lips while making all attempts not to wake him up while he was still asleep.
Suddenly, his eyes popped open, startling her and she widened her eyes in shock. She swallowed deeply, almost painfully.
They stayed like that for a while, and she didn't know how long, but his brows slowly creased as he looked at her weirdly.
"What are you doing?" He asked with an expression of distrust. She frowned when she sensed the tone of suspicion from his words.
"I should be the one asking that when you're actually in my room and lying on my bed."
He looked more upset. "Are you crazy?"
"I'm sane, and you're the crazy one for sneaking into my room. What happened to the agreement that no one would invade the other party's space?"
He seemed speechless for a moment, and she smirked, feeling proud for some reason.
She was glad that he was the one paying whatever penalty he had for this part of the rules. She wanted to know what he would do for violating the rule that stated that everyone should not invade the other's personal space.
Furthermore, she blinked her eyes with a deep frown as she waited for him to speak.
"I don't know if you are really sane as you claimed, but you're clearly not." He pushed himself up as he stared deeply into her eyes.
"I remember clearly that is, in fact, my room, and you're the one who could've possibly snuck into my room."
Her frown deepened, wondering if he was the one slowly going insane and as if he read her thoughts through her expression, he decided to explain to her.
"Look around the room and tell me if this actually looks like yours," he said, and she did that immediately. She looked around and was dumbfounded to notice that nothing around the room looked like hers, not even the decorations.
"So what were you saying?" He asked, raising a brow.
"But how… I mean, I thought I walked into the right room but whose room is this?"
"I'm glad you're saying this yourself."
"But were you the one that brought me here when I was asleep?"
The confidence of this girl. Daniel tried not to react, but he knew how impossible it would be because she was something else.
"So what are you implying?"
"I'm saying you must've brought me in here mainly to make me look insane while you act like you know nothing."
"Because you're in my room and why stress myself to prove that you're really insane when this house is also mine to begin with."
Regina's heart raced as she racked her brains just to come up with something, but nothing was working, and she was already having a hard time understanding what to do.
"I had no idea that this was your room, and why would I get inside in the first place?"
"I have no idea, so why don't you tell me?"
"Tell you what? I was… I don't know…. Drunk I guess…" She said unsure.
Daniel furrowed his brows. "Drunk?" He asked with the look of confusion etched on his face, but then his expression changed as if he remembered something.
"Did you happen to drink the alcohol I brought?"
"Alcohol? I thought it was red wine!" She exclaimed as her eyes opened in shock.
Daniel chuckled. "You really amused me," he said, tilting his head to one side.
Regina's cheeks heated under his scorching gaze. "Stop looking at me like that," she said, trying to avoid his gaze.
"Like how?" He asked with a smirk.
"Like a prey," she said but realized she was still in bed with him. Her mind went back to how he held her earlier and her cheeks turned crimson red and in an attempt to hide it, she tried to leave the bed, but he pulled her back down on the bed.
"Where do you think you're going?" He asked as his expression turned serious, surprising her.
"What are you doing?" She asked back.
"You don't walk away until I say so," he declared.
She found this rather rude and still attempted to get up, but he held her down and she struggled against, but he remained resolute. Left with no choice, she stopped the fight and let him do whatever he wanted.
"Why are you holding me back?"
"I think you've forgotten the rules that include invading one's personal space."
She gasped because she completely forgot about that.
"You know, anyone who does that would get punished accordingly. So with that said, I am entitled to choose whatever punishment I want."
Regina's eyes widened with visible fear. She tried one last time to get up, but he instead leaned down with his gaze piercing deep into her soul.
