(Daniel's POV)
I could hear the fast beating of her heart that seemed to be beating faster, harder, and louder than normal. I wanted to point that out, but something about her expression made me hold back my words.
"What punishment do you have?" She finally had the courage to ask which I wasn't surprised about.
"What do you think should be your punishment?"
She furrowed her brows, clearly confused by the question.
"If I have a say, then I'd prefer if there'll be no punishment at all since it wasn't done intentionally."
I smirked. "You don't expect to believe that, do you?"
She sighed. "Then fine. What do you want?"
"You, in my bed, for the next 30 minutes. I just want to continue the sleep that you disrupted."
She frowned. "Then why should I be in bed while you sleep? Can't you just send me away and continue from where you left off?"
"No! This is part of the punishment, and you can't object to it."
"Why are you being this ruthless?" She asked, and I could hear the pain from her voice. I guess my presence hurt her… Scratch that, my whole existence hurt her and I truly understood why, but I wasn't going to admit it.
"Why do you always want to badly hurt me, even when I did nothing wrong?" She continued, and I believed she was getting too emotional.
"You're mentally hurting me. What kind of monster are you?" She yelled.
I sighed, feeling an upcoming headache. "Don't you think you're taking it a bit far? Why make a big deal out of it when you literally snuck into my room? Or are you desperate to avoid your punishment?" I said, raising.
She scoffed. "Afraid? Not a chance. You think I'm scared of you?"
"That's the feeling," I said as my eyes locked with hers, and for a moment, we just stared at each other. "So, what's it going to be?"
She sighed then nodded slowly. "I can stay here until you fall asleep." She said it was more like a challenge than an agreement.
I knew what I was doing. After living with her for almost a month, I realized that there was no way she'd agree to stay in my bed while I sleep beside her, so I decided to challenge her and unfortunately for her, she fell for it within minutes.
"You can sleep," she informed, but I contemplated if this was really a good idea, judging by the way I actually forced her to agree and the tone she used in telling me to sleep. It was almost like telling to sleep, so she could kill me.
I closed my eyes and tried not to sleep. I wanted her to fall asleep first but I found it so hard to keep myself conscious and in no time, I slept off without the fear of what she might do. Furthermore, I just felt like she wouldn't and I wasn't scared of the thought of her hurting me while in my sleep.
I woke up, feeling something soft pressed on my chest while my hands wrapped around it. I slowly opened my eyes and tried to adjust to the slightly dim room.
My eyes shifted to the person beside me, and I found it hard to look away. My eyes were stuck on her body, her skin was flawless and pale, so I started doubting if she really walked like a farmer because she didn't look like a farmer.
I stared at her features that got me spellbound the first day I saw her. I would rather not agree but I was actually into her good looks to even notice the stone that hurt me.
I leaned down and sniffed her hair slowly, the smell was like a mixture of rose with another smell that I couldn't explain, but one thing was for sure, that was the smell which was sophisticating, and I found it hard to stop sniffing her.
Furthermore, I could only imagine her expression if she saw me sniffing her like a dog. Yet, there was one thing about the way she smelled that made it hard to pull away, instead I found myself pulling her closer until I was satisfied by her closeness.
She shifted as she stared. I knew she had woken up, but I quickly closed my eyes, pretending to still be asleep. Her smell was the only thing I perceived, and it was relieving. I didn't know when but I fell asleep again subconsciously but this time when I woke up, she was already gone.
The place she laid was empty, and it felt slightly cold, which meant she hadn't been gone for long. It brought a smile to my face, just remembering everything that happened made me smile without noticing it.
"Is something wrong?" I heard a voice from close by and I quickly turned to see where it was coming from. To my surprise, it was Regina standing at the door of my bathroom.
Was she in there the whole time? My gaze gradually fell as I scanned her from head to toe. I gently rose from the bed and walked gradually towards her, and could see how her facial expression changed from surprise to confusion.
I went to her, and she moved backwards until I caged her between me and the wall. She looked worried, but I smiled calmly at her, and she instinctively calmed down.
I took hold of her hand. "Come with me," I said while pulling her as I walked to the bed.
"Why? What are you going to do in bed? I thought you've slept enough." She argued even when I laid on the bed with her.
I sighed as I suddenly felt peckish. "Fine then. I think it's enough, too, so how about you make someone for us to eat?" I said nonchalantly.
She looked shocked as her jaw dropped. "Make something for you? To eat? Why would you think of something like that?"
"That's your next punishment, so I suggest you take it seriously." I informed her, and the blood drained from her face, leaving her pale.
