Why? Was he not pleased with the food I made? I was curious, but I did not have the guts to ask him boldly.
"You should go get ready," he said, standing up as he walked away. I stared at the food on the table and sighed, feeling frustrated with everything. I sat alone in absolute silence, but then I felt a presence behind me, and before I could comprehend, I heard a voice behind me.
"Excuse me, if you don't me I'd like for you to follow me," the maid said then led the way. Confused, I followed her as she took me to my room.
I frowned and turned to look at her. "what's going on?"
"Please get ready, the boss is waiting for you downstairs." She informed me and stepped outside to give me my privacy.
I stood there with a confused expression for a while before I slowly made my way to the place I kept my things. I didn't have much, and I refused to put the few in the wardrobe.
Furthermore, I got dressed, picking whatever I found appropriate, with less enthusiasm for going anywhere. I stepped out with the expectation of seeing the maid there waiting, but I saw no one. Having no other choice, I walked downstairs and each step I took was taking away my courage until I finally reached downstairs.
I walked further and searched around for him. Suddenly, a hand came around mine and someone tugged me back.
"Shall we?" He asked, but didn't wait to get my response before walking ahead and pulling me behind him. He got into the car and someone opened it for him, and he stepped in briefly, still pulling me with him.
"Where are we going?" I asked after practicing it several times in my head.
His gaze was looking straight ahead even though we were sitting in the back seat. He remained mute which was quite disturbing, I just wanted to know where we were going because the journey was too long
However, the car came to a halt and someone opened the door.
We both steppes out, and my jaw almost fell when my gaze landed on the massive building in front of me. The height of it and the design was captivating, but with the various of cars in front of the building only made it obvious that it was a boutique.
We walked inside and everything about this place was beautiful. We got to the clothing section and a sales lady walked over towards us with a bright smile that made her look both young and approachable.
"Good day sir, ma'am. How can I be of help?" She was so polite that I couldn't help but smile slightly at her.
Daniel asked her to take us to where we could get a female cloth. The lady gladly led the way and as we walked, we passed beautiful dresses that caught my attention throughout the walk. I was so caught up with it that I failed to notice how Daniel's gaze was on me the whole time.
"What type of cloth are you looking for?" She asked with her gaze on Daniel.
"A classic dinner dress for her," he said, and her gaze moved towards me. Her eyes went up and down as she scanned me with a look of consideration.
"Please come with me." She said shortly and started walking ahead. Why on earth did they all think I'd walk behind them every single time?
She stopped walking and stood in front of beautiful dresses, and at this point I already concluded that all the clothes here were beautiful and classy. I wondered what else Daniel was asking for.
"Can you please pick the one you want so you can try it on?" She said calmly and I nodded slowly. With hesitation, I reached for a dress shakily while my eyes moved quickly around the dresses.
I forced myself to grip on the dress I touched. We took more clothes afterward. She smiled upon seeing the dresses I picked and led me back, but to my amazement, Daniel was already sitting on a couch comfortably while scrolling on his phone. He noticed our presence and looked. He saw the dresses with me and leaned back comfortably with an amazed look.
"This way ma'am," she led me to a place I could change which wasn't far from where he sat. I changed into a beautiful black dress that was really classy with a bit of cleavage and I loved the mermaid shape.
I stepped out and walked towards him slowly. He looked up with his brow slightly creased. Something about his expression told me he wasn't pleased by the dress, and he proved me right when he shook his head as a gesture that he disapproved of it.
I sighed and walked back in with another dress, and this one was a silky black dress. I came out again, but I received yet another disapproval from him as he didn't even wait for a second before he shook his head. Furthermore, I went back inside, feeling a bit exhausted.
I changed to a wine dress that contracted beautifully on me, exposing my curves. I stepped out with the confidence that this dress exuded, and I could see a slight change in his expression as he seemed pleased and unpleasant at the same time.
"You don't like the dress?" I asked, a bit annoyed by his resoluteness.
"That isn't bad but not up to the standard required, so change to something else," that was the first time he made a comment and I didn't know if I should be happy or unhappy because his comment was somewhat confusing.
"Why? I thought you said it wasn't bad." I snapped.
"I believe that's not the kind of comment you would want for a dress." He replied briefly, which only angered me.
With no choice left, I walked back, tugging a dress with me. I got changed, but the aloof man got even worse as he turned down all the dresses, some without even taking a peek at them.
"Are you kidding me?" I said with my fists clenched. He furrowed his brows.
"What is it?" He asked calmly which didn't help, but I decided not to let my anger get the best of me. I ignored him and went back inside with a velvet red silky dress. With straps for hands and a slit that exposed my thigh. The cleavage was enough to show more than a hint of my breasts in an alluring way possible.
I looked in the mirror with a smirk. Now let's see what he'll say about this dress.
