Chapter 7: Let's meet again

I stared at Ace, who was standing next to me. I couldn't answer aunt's question. He tilts his head and looks at me with a frown. My knees are weak, I feel like I've run out of strength because of what happened.

“Can I?” he asked and pointed to the phone. I slowly nodded and handed him the phone.

My hair stood up when Ace's breath hit me as he whispered close to my ear, “You look surprised and shocked,” he stated.

I bit my lip as I shook my head, “I was just surprised by your sudden appearance,” I answered before walking downstairs.

I stopped when he suddenly spoke, “Don't make me mad, Scar.” I looked at him with a frown.

“I'm not doing anything,” I said. He clenched his teeth as he glared at me. I just raised an eyebrow at him before walking down again.

“Scarlet, I swear!” He said, annoyed, but I ignored him and continued walking down. Louis laughed when she saw me and offer a fist bombed, which I accepted.

“What are you laughing at?” I asked with a frown. He just shook his head and sat down on the single sofa again.

“Crazy,” I said and walked out of the house. It's just misty, so I won't get wet if I stay here in the hallway outside with chairs.

I need to unwind. I'm confused why I feel all this. Is it true that I already have feelings for him? It's not possible, it would mess up everything…

One more thing, he sees me as his younger sister, no more, no less. It would hurt me in the end if it's true that I'm developing feelings for him.

“What are you thinking, and you're here?” I frowned when I saw Ace sitting in front of me.

“Why is it bad?” I asked and went back to leaning back in the chair and closed my eyes.

Am I really being played with? I really want to unwind, but this person is here. I'm irritated when I feel him staring at me, I sighed before gazing at him.

“Don't look at me!” I was shouted, which made him laugh.

“You know what? You're cute.” He chuckled before standing up and standing next to me. “Why do you seem irritated with me?” he asked in surprise.

Who wouldn't be irritated by him? First, he can look at Louis like he's going to punch him, second, he's saying that I should not make him angry when I'm not doing anything, third, it seems like he doesn't want Louis and me to be close, but he doesn't want to say why?

“Because you make me one, you know what? Find someone to talk to.” I glared at him before I marched into Louis's house.

I went straight to the kitchen and took an orange from the table. He's so annoying! It seems like he watches my every move tss, does he think that because he is my guardian for a while, he can order me who and with whom I can make friends or get close.

“That poor orange,” I looked at Louis when he suddenly spoke. He pointed what was in my hand with a shocked written in his face. I winced when I saw that the orange was ruined and could not be eaten anymore.

Too bad, orange is still my favorite. It's Ace's fault, if only he hadn't messed me up.

“Ooh don't look like that at that orange, he's not doing anything bad to you,” I was brought back to reality when Louis spoke again. He walked towards me and took the orange and threw it in the trash can and pulled me to the sink to wash my hand.

“You know Ash, if you're harboring a grudge, don't focus on things or people who have nothing against you,” he said. I stared at him as he spoke.

“Life is a mystery honestly, sometimes we make a mistake because we are clouded of our emotion which is not good… we don't realize that, and we often regret it in the end,” he said and looked me in the eye.

“Just like what you did to that fruit, you didn't realize that's what you did, and that orange has nothing against you, it can't speak and say it was hurt and if ever it can speak maybe he can't tell you that it was hurt, not everyone has the ability to say what they feel.” He sat me down on a chair before sitting across from me to get another orange.

I slump on the table and took a deep breath. Why am I acting like this just because of a little change in his behavior? I was never affected before.

“Louis,” I called before looking at him.

“Hmm?”

“When do people fall in love?” I asked and sighed.

He stopped at my question and looked at me, “Are you serious about your question?” he asked, and I nodded.

“There is no specific time when a person will fall in love with romantic love,” he said, frowning at me, “Let's just say that this orange I took is the person and then my hand is the love, he doesn't know when I'll get him.” he explained.

“We never know when we'll fall in love, Ash.” He handed me the orange he had peeled. I took it and started eating it. “It came suddenly and when we fall… we have no escape.” I stopped chewing the orange in my mouth because of what he said.

“I don't want to be hit by that love,” I said. “Scary, painful and more.”

He patted my shoulder and said, “It's because love is associated with pain, sacrifice, trust, and happiness.” I looked at him with a confused face.

“For real?” I asked, which he nodded.

“It can hurt, but choose not to hurt someone in the battle of love.” I nodded, “You're still young, you have a lot to learn.”

“Louis, why are you so kind to me, and why do you want me to call you by your name only?” I will ask.

“Because I want you…” I stared at him for a moment because of what he said, “to be my little sister. Because we can't have another sibling anymore.” he added that I breathed a sigh of relief.

“I can be your younger sister,” his eyes widened when he heard what I've said.

“Really?” he asked happily.

“Sure, don't you want it?” I asked laughingly.

“Of course not! I'm so happy!” I was surprised when he suddenly pulled me causing our bodies to be close, he hugged me tightly whispering his thank-you.

“Scarlet Ash Frios!” We were shocked because of his scream.

Louis laughed when he saw Ace's angry look and whispered to me, “Let's meet again, little sis, it looks like you're going home early so—” Louis didn't finish what he was going to say when Ace suddenly pulled me out of the kitchen.
