The atmosphere in Sehun's office couldn’t get any more suffocating. The detective was trying to get as comfortable as possible in his chair and get his work started. But it seemed like an impossible task. His eyes were looking at the screen but he wasn’t really reading anything. He couldn’t concentrate. His long and pale fingers were typing and deleting over and over again. He was doing his best to keep himself busy or at least distracted from that intense stare. That stare…
Slowly Sehun looked up, directly at those dark eyes that had been looking at his soul for the past 25 minutes. Was he even blinking?! Not to mention that he was not even trying to hide or make it less obvious.
Once they made eye contact, Sehun forgot how to breath. Those big doe eyes were sparkling and stared at him with an intensity that sent shivers down his back.
“Stop staring. It’s annoying.”
Even though it wasn’t the detective’s intention, his voice came out commanding and harsh, sounding intimidating yet annoyed. An interesting combination in the raven’s eyes. And oh, he has been waiting for what felt like forever to get a reaction out of the blond.
As much as the raven wanted to tease the detective and annoy him even more, his phone started to ring. After excusing himself, Chanyeol stepped out of the office and went to the big windows at the end of the hall, making sure there was nobody listening.
“Do you mind explaining why there are rumors about YOU working as an ASSISTANT for a DETECTIVE?! When and why did this happen? And why didn’t you inform me? You-”
At that point Chanyeol just rolled his eyes and growled, making the pink haired demon stop rambling. He didn’t mind the other talking to him without using honorifics or whatever but one thing he wouldn’t tolerate was someone using that tone with him, friend or not. Nobody should forget who he is.
“Don’t use that tone with me. You know how much I hate it.”
It reminded him of his worthless father and his annoying siblings. And those were… creatures he doesn’t like to think about. They disgust him and mean nothing, absolutely nothing to him. If you asked him, they didn’t deserve to even be called his family. Well, maybe Daehyun might be a little bit different but he only changed when he left that shit hole. That place was worse than hell.
“Instead of wasting time listening to stupid, yet true, rumors take care of those who started them.”
With a quick ‘Yes sir’ Minjun hung up. He knew better than pissing him off. Yeah, they did mess around but Minjun always knew what the limits were.
As he put his phone away the raven quickly made his way to the detective’s office. The boy looked really pissed and he didn’t feel like getting into an argument with him on the first day.
He entered the office quietly, already regretting not knocking first once he saw the blond, who was talking on the phone, give him a death glare. Dear Devil, if only the young detective knew what those stares were doing to him.
As he was about to make some coffee to the younger as the dedicated assistant he was, Sehun got up, still talking on the phone, and grabbed his jacket and his car keys, making his way out the door without even sparing a glance at the other. Without giving it a second thought, Chanyeol followed the younger, almost running. If someone saw the king of hell running after a human he wouldn’t be spared of the rumors. It was funny even for him.
”Why the hell are you following me? And don’t come to me with all that assistant bullshit. We never said anything about you leaving the office with me for whatever.”
Chanyeol was about to roll his eyes but decided not to. The blond was a feisty one and arguing with him about every small thing would only worsen their already messed up relationship.
Relationship…it didn’t sound all that bad.
"Aww come on Sehun! You don't want me to get in trouble on my first day, now do you?"
After seeing that stupid expresion his ‘assistant’ had on his face, the blond sigh and leaned on his car.
“First of all, it’s ‘sir’ or ‘detective’ for you. Only my friends are allowed to call me by my name. Second of all, if you really want to do your job and come with me for whatever reason then go get me some coffee. I didn’t have any today. And make it quick, I don’t like to wait.”
After a quick nod the raven entered the building, almost running. He’s not gonna lie, Sehun being all bossy was actually entertaining and hot.
Once the blond made sure the older was gone, he quickly got into the car while complaining about how unlucky he was. He was well aware that Chanyeol wasn’t at fault, he was only doing his job. But he didn’t asked for it as it was unnecessary so he wasn’t going to just accept it.
Besides, Sehun wasn’t leaving for work, it was a personal matter but something told him that that would make the older even more curious and insistent. He didn’t look like someone who respects other people's decisions or private life for some reason.

Light but persistent food taps could be heard in the dark room. The air felt heavy and it was hard to breathe. Anyone who would step into that room would get out as soon as possible, without giving it a second thought. The breathing sound could give anyone shivers down their back. And the eyes…those dark bloody red eyes kept staring at the floor, barely blinking in the few hours he's been doing that.
He was angry. Chanyeol was really angry.
He didn’t appreciate at all what the younger had done a few hours ago. He was incredibly pissed. Nobody ever dared to lie to him before. A low growl left his mouth and his breathing was getting heavier by the second. He was losing it.
His eyes suddenly fell on the soft, blue scarf that Sehun had left behind. With a quick move he snatched it from the desk and buried his nose in it, taking in the detective's scent as much as he could. It calmed him down almost immediately and after a few minutes his eyes shut down instantly, his body relaxing completely. It almost scared him the influence the younger could have on him. If only he was aware of it…
Suddenly, the office’s knob was twisted and it opened slowly, making Chanyeol flinch a little bit. He quickly threw the scarf on the desk, and straightened his back. He already missed the younger’s scent. He could only imagine how good it could feel to fall asleep and wake up to that pleasant smell.
But all his thoughts were gone when he saw the detective enter the office. He immediately remembered what happened earlier and he couldn’t help but get a little bit angry.
He quickly made his way to the door, pulling the other inside, slamming the door and pushing Sehun against it,making sure he was trapped between his arms with no way out.
The blond was beyond shocked, his eyes widening as his eyes met the older’s intense stare. And as much as he wished, not a sound came out of his mouth. As much as he wanted to push the older away , he didn't have the energy to do it...he didn’t dare to move…Or maybe he just didn’t have it in him to push him away.
It was the first time in years when someone who isn’t Juwon or Haneul got close to him and invaded his personal space…and he hated himself for reacting the way he did.
Sehun’s heart was beating way too fast and breathing was hard, the air not getting to his lungs making him feel suffocated. A shaky breath made its way through the youngers mouth as he tried to put himself together.
“What are you doing? Get away from me.” Oh, and that was supposed to be a yell but it came out way too soft to his liking…
The raven gave him an amused look before getting even closer to the boy trapped in his arms, their breath feeling hot against the others lips. Lips… Chanyeol slowly looked down from the detective’s eyes to his lips, staring at them with desire. He wondered what they taste like… They look so soft and pink, so kissable that it was hard to hold back.
His lustful thoughts were interrupted when he felt a strong push against his chest, being caught off guard and taking a few steps back, almost falling. Quite surprised, he looked up at the detective, his eyebrows raising.
“What’s your deal?! And why are you even here? You should be home, just like everyone else. You know what? I don’t even care. Just grab your staff and leave.”
The detective was expecting anything but a scoff from the older.
“Are you serious Detective Kim? ‘What’s your deal?’ I should be the one asking that! What you did earlier this evening…Was it really necessary?”
Sehun could only roll his eyes, shaking his head in disbelief.
“It’s not my fault you can’t take a ‘no’ as an answer. If you would have listened to me from the beginning none of this would have happened.”
With that, he passed by Chanyeol, grabbing his scarf and some files from the desk and left the older all by himself in the office. He knew he was being irrational but he couldn’t help it. He’s not good at dealing with people and Chanyeol only made it difficult for him. Damn it, he likes to work alone for a reason!
