The air was hard to breathe.
Since when was air hard to breathe?!
Sehun looked around, doing his best to avoid the other’s gaze.
He hated this. He hated every bit of this.
Why did Chanyeol always have to do this?
Fixing his eyes on the ground, he did his best to look calm and try to ignore how the raven’s hot breath hit his left cheek, realizing just then that Chanyeol bent down a little bit to somewhat match his height.
That only made him feel smaller for some reason.
“My eyes are up here, Detective Kim.”
Oh, he knew that damn well.
He refused to look up for a reason.
But after realizing that they couldn’t stay like this forever, he slowly looked up, doing his best to hide any type of emotion so he wouldn’t look vulnerable.
His eyes were met by a pair of dark and intimidating ones. And as much as he wanted to look away he couldn’t. It’s like he didn’t dare to. Suddenly his knees got weak and without a second thought he grabbed onto the raven’s arm. As if Chanyeol knew what was going on with him, he quickly wrapped his right arm around him and pulled him closer, their bodies glued to each other at that point.
“Why do you always have to do this?”
He couldn’t help but curse himself for saying it in such a soft voice. It wasn’t supposed to come out like that!
“Do what?”
No.
He wasn’t going to say it out loud.
The other was more than aware of what he meant, so there was no need to explain shit.
“Chanyeol, don’t tease me…”
Chanyeol only smirked and bent over a little more. And to his surprise, the blond was determined to hold his gaze.
“I should be the one asking you that.”
Hearing the raven’s tone and seeing how, suddenly, he was so damn serious, he couldn’t help but get nervous.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.”
Chanyeol scoffed and it almost looked like his eyes darkened even more.
“Why do you always have to do this? Why do you always have to push me away, especially when your life is in potential danger? I hate it when you do that. I hate it when you act so reckless. I hate it when you act on your own. I hate it when you put your life in danger so others don’t have to. I hate it when you don’t give a damn about your safety. I hate it that you can’t be selfish.”
Sehun’s eyes widened and his hands began to shake, resulting in him grabbing onto the other’s arm even tighter.
Sensing his nervousness, Chanyeol raised his left hand and with gentle and soft movements, he started caressing his cheek as he was the most precious thing in the world.
“I… I already failed you once. I don’t wanna fail you again. Even if I have to stay behind you or if I have to hide somewhere… just let me go with you. Don’t make me leave your side again.”
The blond’s heart was beating painfully fast and his eyes were tearing up without him realizing. All those words… those actions… Those were all things he craved for his entire life but never got them.
And because he never got them he never even dared to hope he’ll ever experience any of them so now that he did… he didn’t know what to do. He didn't even know what he was supposed to say. He felt joy but started to panic due to his lack of knowledge and familiarity with this kind of care and affection so his anxiety didn’t take long to slowly kick in.
And while he was freaking out, the raven reassured him with soft touches and to both their surprise, with a long kiss on the forehead.
Sehun froze on the spot but he didn’t feel like running away. He allowed himself to lean into the touch and close his eyes, a soft sigh leaving his lips.
The next thing he knew was that they were extremely close and Chanyeol’s hot breath was hitting his lips.
The older was looking lovingly in his eyes and patiently waited.
The blond would lie if he said he didn’t wanted it.
That he didn’t needed it.
But he was scared to say it out loud.
Luckly for him, Chanyeol understood him and smiled softly.
“It’s okay, you don’t have to say anything.”
And within seconds, their lips finally met into a soft and tender kiss.
Sehun was relaxing into his embrace while Chanyeol could feel his heart beating like crazy. He’s been craving for this since he first laid his eyes onto the man in his arms.
He waited for this for so long…
And he knew one thing for sure: nobody will ever take him away.
The detective belongs to him.
Their lips kept moving in sync, brushing against each other with an incredible gentleness.
It didn’t took them long to get lost in the feeling.
To forget their surroundings.
And as they were running out of breath, Chanyeol only held him tighter before pulling away slowly, wishing they didn’t have to.
Sehun sighed and pressed his lips together. He felt like his lips were set on fire but strangely, he didn’t mind it at all.
Somehow he liked it.
Suddenly Chanyeol started to laugh and caressed his cheek one more time.
“I can’t believe we had our first kiss at a crime scene.”
— —
The smell of blood filled his nostrils but he didn’t even bother to block it. His red eyes looked around, only to realize just how many has he killed.
He was in the middle of hundreds of dead bodies.
It looked like a pool of blood.
His lips curved up into a grin and enjoyed the sight.
It looked so pretty.
Red was such a pretty color.
He was the only one standing, making him feel even more powerful.
Suddenly a deep chuckle made its way to his ears and he closed his eyes, loving those chuckles as much as he loved the person they were coming from.
“Damn. You didn’t hold back, huh?”
Small yet strong arms wrapped around his waist the next second. From the corner of his eyes he could only see those familiar fangs accompanied by a big smirk.
“Hm… It’s all red. Everything is red... Red is such a pretty color.”
Kyung took the small hand into his much bigger one and kissed it softly.
Minjun only leaned onto him and smiled sweetly at him, his sinister behavior from earlier completely gone.
One could easily say that the pink haired demon was insane and those who actually knew him could only confirm it. He could go from sweet to aggressive within seconds and you never really knew what his next move would be.
And Kyung himself wasn’t much different from him. Always having a cold behavior and way of thinking and you could never know when he was about to lose it.
They were both unpredictable.
And that’s what they like so much about each other.
They were both insane, yet somehow managed to keep a bare minimum of sanity just for each other.
“Carry me.”
Minjun demanded it and Kyung did as told, like always.
“Should we let Chaneyol know?”
Kyung hummed and turned his head to kiss his forehead.
“We should. I’ll get in touch with him as soon as I get a chance to do so. That idiot is head over heels over a certain mortal so it’s hard to even get his attention.”
The pink haired demon laughed and approved.
“Not gonna lie tho, that Sehun…He’s interesting. I like him!”
Seeing the confused look on his boyfriend's face he continued.
“He has such a cold aura surrounding him, he’s rude and I bet he would dare to put our king in his place even if he found out who he actually is.”
Kyung hummed, giving it a thought.
It was true what Minjun in said. He was always curious about the other. During centuries he met all kinds of people but none of them like the detective.
He wouldn't say it out loud but he would actually like to meet and get along with him.
