10. Escaped

Maya's Pov

As I locked the door with the two men inside, I heard voices coming towards my direction. I ran the other way and I was at the exit of the building when I saw three guards. This place was very big and the main exit was very far away through a small forest path and I had only come out from the main building which is just half of my journey.

The guards spotted me and they came towards me with their guns and knives. One of the men wanted to stab me but I hit him in the groin, the other man was about to shoot but I stabbed his wrist with my pen knife, the last man held my neck and I was losing my breath then suddenly I heard the sound of a bottle being smashed on the man's head and I turned and I was shocked to see Ethan.

"Ethan!!! I am so glad to see you " and I hugged him tightly.

I realized what just happened and I pulled away from him.

'Sorry, I didn't mean....'

'Shhhh, it's okay Maya. Let's just escape together, this place is hell and I don't want you to continue getting hurt'.

"Thanks Ethan".

We ran towards the forest path and we suddenly heard gunshots, we decided to hide in the thicker part of the forest where the guards won't find us.

"We've lost them". Ethan Said

"That's good, now we need to set up camp".

"Alright, I will find us some food". Ethan replied

"Don't worry, there's some food in my back pack".

"Great, let's eat".

Ethan and I ate together and he set up a camp fire. Then I started shivering.

"Are you cold".

"Don't worry about me, I am okay".

Then Ethan came close to me and put his leather jacket around me and I felt warmer.

"Thanks"

"You're welcome ".

We stared at each other's eyes and Ethan came closer to me and I felt jitters around me. I didn't know what I have been feeling towards Ethan over the past three months but it was nice. I think I am in love with him.

"Maya, there's something I really want to tell you". Then Ethan scratched his neck nervously.

"Um.. I can't live without you and I have had this special attraction towards you for some years now and I can't bear to see you hurt"

"I love you Maya and you are my life"

Ethan stared at me waiting for a reply and I was shocked because I felt the same way for him.

"I love you too Ethan and I can't live without you. Ever since you were taking care of me, I had felt this special connection with you".

We inched towards each other's face and Ethan held my face with his two hands and he pressed his lips on mine. I felt strange at first but I was enjoying the pleasure and I moved my lips in sync with his own.

He moved his hands from my face and towards my waist and I moaned loudly. He pressed my breast towards his chest and he moaned also and it was getting very passionate and I could see the lust in his eyes and I broke the kiss and we both breathed heavily.

I pushed him away

"You're a bad boy...we can't do this now". I said

"Sorry, but I am too lost in your Never ending beauty". He replied and smirked

I giggled and we laughed and played. We kissed again but it was not as intense as the first one.

"Maya will you be my girlfriend"

"Um..m yes"

"Thank you, I will always love you till the end"

We kissed again and it was a slow passionate kiss. After, we slept peacefully In each other's arms.

On Monday morning, I woke very early and I started preparing for school. After that lunch with Noah and his family and the incident in the swimming pool, I have been thinking a lot about Noah, I always dreamt of him and I always imagine him everywhere.

After my bath, I curled my thick black long hair and I applied a little makeup. I don't usually apply makeup to school but I felt I should look good today.

Is it because of Noah?I asked myself.

No, I brushed the thought aside. I wore a white top and a blue ripped jean with white canvas.



I wore my black choker and I slung my school bag and headed to school. When I got to school, I spotted Yna and I ran towards her in excitement but she was fighting with Ji-yoo again.

Ji-yoo just became friends with me and Yna last week, he is Korean but he lives in the US with his family. I was framed for stealing the teacher's test answers but Ji-yoo exposed the real culprit and that was how we became friends and I introduced him to Yna but Yna continuously fights with him over minor issues and I am tired of separating their fights all the time.

"Stop fighting with him, what's wrong with you Yna". I said and I faced her

"Ji-yoo refused to go to the annual school dance with me and we are friends rather he prefers going with Lalisa".

I and Ji-yoo began to laugh at Yna.

"Why are you guys laughing".

"Lalisa is my sister dummy". Ji-yoo replied

"Ooh, but why didn't you want to take me to the dance".

"I wanted to ask you but you kept yelling and accusing me".

"Sorry". Yna said and she felt bad

"It's okay, will you like to go to the dance with me".

"Yes, I will". And Yna hugged Ji-yoo tightly.

I coughed to bring them back to reality.

They pulled back from the hug.

"Do you like each other".

"No, we don't". They responded simultaneously

And they both walked away embarrassed. I giggled.

As I was going towards the gymnastics room for my first class. Someone pulled me towards the back of the gymnastics room.

"Noah is that you".

"Your one and only".

"Hi".

"Hi, cutie". He replied and raised his left eyebrow

I scrunched my nose at him. Then he giggled.

"Will you go to the dance with me?"

"I don't know Noah, other girls would like to go with you, for example ; Dana".

"Well I don't care about them, I only care about you and I want to go to the dance with you".

"Ok, alright ".

"Thanks cutie, bye".

"Hey, don't call me that. Bye".

I continued the rest of the school hours dreaming about Noah.

I woke up and I saw Ethan roasting a bird over the camp fire we used last night.

"Good morning my beautiful queen, how was your night sweet heart"

"It was great Ethan dear".

We ate breakfast together and we prepared to continue our journey. We went towards the forest path and we started going through there when we heard gunshots, we ran towards the end of the forest path and we were almost through the big gate when the guard at the big gate shot my left arm, I screamed in pain and Ethan got very angry and he punched the man continuously until he fell unconscious . I was bleeding profusely.

Ethan cut the hem of his shirt and tied it on my bleeding arm to stop the bleeding a little. We came out from the big gate and we were finally free from captivity. Ethan had some money on him and he took me to the hospital. Ethan contacted the police and they came to the hospital, we gave our statements and the police decided to search for my parents so that I could go back home. The police also went to where the hideout was located but all of them had ran away from there.

"Pa, your phone is ringing". I said and I stood up from the couch and gave it to him.

"Thanks dear",

"Hello, who am I speaking with"

"This is inspector Michael Russell".

"Can I help you".

"We have found your daughter, Maya Bonifacio".

"She is currently at the central hospital, new Jersey".

"You have really found my daughter. Thank you very much inspector, I am coming right away."

"Rhian dear, I have found your twin sister".

"Really Pa, thanks for believing we would find her " Then I hugged Pa.

"Let's go quickly, we would give your Ma a fun surprise when she comes back from work".

When we got to the hospital, I was very anxious and also very excited to see my sister. Pa was even more excited, this was the first time I have seen him excited in years. We were directed towards her room and I was so eager.

We walked into her room and she was asleep. She looked different, she was grown up, matured looking and beautiful. We were not identical twins but we had the same dark brown eyes. Maya had brownish curly hair which wasn't very long. I had long black hair.

Pa walked towards her and he caressed her hair. she woke up and was surprised to see us.

Pa helped her to sit up

"Maya dear, I am your Pa and she is your twin sister".

"She smiled and hugged both of us and we all sobbed".

We pulled away

"Dear...you don't know how much we missed you...we searched for you everywhere...we missed you every passing day...I'm so glad you have come back to us". Pa said and he sobbed

"I'm so glad I'm back...I'll never leave again". Maya replied

"Sis...I'm so happy to see you again". I said and I hugged her

After we talked for a while, she was discharged

I helped her to walk towards the car. Then she held my hands

"Where's Ethan...he's the one that saved my life". She said

"Don't worry sis...he's coming with us".

We went home with Ethan and Maya and I was so happy to see my twin sister.

When mum got home, she was shocked to see Maya. She hugged her tightly and cried.

"Maya...my child, I'm so happy to see you again". Mum said and she hugged her tightly

Everybody was happy and we decided to have a small welcome party for Maya tomorrow.

I couldn't sleep in my room so I went to sleep with Maya in her room. We chatted, laughed and played. She also told me about her feelings for Ethan but she said she wants to complete her studies before taking it to the next level. I also confessed to her about my feelings for Noah and she advised me to go with the flow. I missed the feeling of a sister and now my sister has returned back home.

We went to our parents room and we slept together as one family peacefully resting on each other.
