"Your daylight ring?" Stefan asked, looking around the room.
"No," She shook her head. "My wedding ring, he had it! Oliver took it."
"Your wedding ring?" Stefan asked, "I don't know, caroline….We have to…"
"No, I want it!" Caroline insisted. "I want the ring…I can't leave without it."
Stefan thought she was hysterical. She had been trapped in the house for almost twenty two days and the first thing she cared about was her wedding ring.
"You don't get it! Stefan!" She told him, "It might be all I have of Klaus."
"Klaus is not dead, Caroline!" he tried to assure her. "Or hurt."
"If he wasn't." Caroline said grimly. "It would be him getting me out of her and not you."
"He's fine." He repeated.
"No, he's not." Caroline stepped out of the room.
She saw Oliver lying on the floor, bleeding out, long with a few other people. Some dead, some dying. She looked at Stefan.
"I had to…." He explained.
"It's okay." She sat in front of Oliver who was drawing his last breaths. "It had to be done."
She took out her ring from the inside of his jacket and brought her face extremely close to his.
"No one keeps me away from my family." She told him, "Not even someone from my own pack."
She pulled his heart out.
"Caroline…" Stefan was a little horrified.
"No one!" She dropped his heart on the floor.
She walked out of the house and Stefan followed. She asked him for a lighter. He took one out. She threw it on the floor. The whole house lit on fire.
"How did....?"
"Oliver soaked the whole floor in gasoline." She told him, "In case Klaus or Hayley or someone came to save me and he'd have an advantage by burning us alive."
"He really wanted you gone, huh?" Stefan didn't know what else to say.
"Yes...But, he is gone now." She said, "I'm alive and he is dead."
The whole house was lit on fire and Caroline stood in front of it, rotating her ring in her finger.
"I loved him." She whispered, as a tear rolled down her cheek. "I really loved him, Stefan."
He wrapped his arms around her,
"He is not dead, Caroline." He told her, "He's fine. He's probably out having the time of his life, having fun, with you gone."
"No…" She shook her head. "He's hurt or dead….Or he would come to find me."
"He's fine!" He insisted.
"I feel it in my heart, Stefan." She replied, "Wrong….something is so wrong."
Stefan looked at her, he was worried about her.
"What are you going to do?" He asked. "Caroline?"
"I am going back to New Orleans." She replied.
"I'll come with you." He said quickly.
"No…" She stopped him. "You can't. If the Mikaelsons aren't safe, then who is?"
She asked herself and walked off. Stefan looked at her walk away. He wanted to stop her. He wanted to follow her. But, she disappeared.
Caroline Forbes-Salvatore took Stefan Salvatore's car and left a message on the door that she would return it as soon as possible, she drove out of Mystic Falls and soon found a pay phone in a gas station. She called Hayley.
"Where are you?"
"Where are you?" Hayley questioned back.
"Outside Mystic Falls." She replied.
"Where have you been?" Hayley demanded.
"Tied up in an abandoned house." Caroline explained. "Come back to New Orleans. It's time to get revenge."
"Caroline…"
"Come on, Hayley." Caroline was dressed in twenty three days old clothes, "It's now or never or she will kill them."
"Who will?" Hayley asked, impatiently.
It was the problem that came from being a Mikaelson. You never knew who your enemy was.
"Who is this person?" Hayley almost shouted at her. "Who is she?"
"I have no idea." Caroline replied, grimly and put the receiver back.
"Carol….." Hayley stared at her phone.
She shook her head softly, Klaus's influence on Caroline grew immensely. Sometimes, it was scary. It was as if she was the female Klaus.
Caroline Forbes-Mikaelson entered the New Orleans district with the help of Bonnie Bennett. She didn't want the help of Davina Claire because she couldn't risk the New Orleans witches knowing about her. She was friends with Davina, but still, she could make no mistake if she wanted to save her new family, her new city and her new home.
She hid out in the plantation house for days. WIthout letting anyone know she was there. She used no electricity, she never came out of the house. She thought and thought. But, she had no plans. She couldn't think of anything. She had no phones or means to contact Hayley. She was really paranoid.
After twenty seven days, Hayley Marshall returned to the city of New Orleans looking for Caroline. And, found her after a week.
She came in the dead of the night, when Caroline was sleeping on the floor, notebooks lying around her. Cups of coffee and plates of food on the side table.
"Hey.." She whispered. "Caroline….Wake up."
She shook her shoulder. Caroline woke up dizzly, her hand gripped on a mug lying around. She hit Hayley on the head.
"God!" Hayley took a few steps back. "What the hell is wrong with you? And, why does this keep happening to me?"
"You should know better." Caroline rubbed her eyes. "To attack someone who is a Mikaelson."
Hayley nodded. She sat down in front of Caroline.
