USUAL DISTURBANCE ON ROAD

AN: Character rooster updated. I have uploaded some high upscaled images.

*****

I called mom to let her know I'd be cooking dinner tonight. She was surprised at first, but eventually, she agreed. I can't blame her. She knows I can't cook. Well, that's gonna change tonight.

Ah! Crap. Another fight on the road. Like everyone else, I stopped the car. Two frog-like mutants are fighting each other in the middle of the road. Some newbie heroes are trying to dissolve the situation.

There were too many cars and people on the road. At the end of the day, it's departure time. Several people are returning home from work and some are heading to work for the night. The nearby shops and street stalls are crowded with people. Looks like their business is flowing well. Those on foot were going their own way, while some were standing on the street and watching the commotion.

Huh?! Natasha is looking at the small street food stall on the left street selling shish kebabs and various fried foods. She is biting her lips.

I look forward. From the newbies' condition, I can tell it's going to take some time for them to calm the situation.

"Wait here," I said to Natasha, nudging her arm lightly.

"Huh? Where are you heading?" Natasha asked, seeing me getting out of the car.

"I will be right back," I said with a smile.

I hurriedly ran to the food stall and bought four shish kebabs. The smell is too appetizing, and my mouth is watering. I don't remember the last time I had some of these...

Then I bought two Diet Cokes and walked to my car.

.

.

"Here you go..."

I gave Natasha the kebab sticks. A stunning smile adorned her face as she accepted them. Her gaze was fixed on the skewered and grilled meat. I can see she is moving her mouth without even tasting the food. I think she is salivating...

+1 Point for me.

"Thanks," Natasha said. Then she started to chomp on the meat cubes. She looks really happy. Who knew that kebabs could make a woman happy?

And those bastards are still at it. Fuck these newbies. How long are they going to waste their time? Just beat them up for fuck's sake.

"You enjoy that. I will take a look at the front and be back in a jiffy..."

I left Natasha with the food and Coke and walked to the front.

"Hey, how long are you going to waste time talking? Just beat the crap out of them. It's getting late, and I have a dinner date. So chop-chop," I said while clapping my hand, "Get on with it."

"Sir. Please stay back and don't interrupt our official work," One of the newbie boys, wearing some shitty blue elastic dress with a hawk mask, came forward and stood before me. He is holding a large metal pole over his shoulder.

Using a metal pole as a weapon in this era. Is his power related to enhancement or strength? Who knows? The other four look the same. They were wearing the same clothes as the one standing before me. And why the hell is he glaring at me? Creepy fucker. Trying to act tough. They are all carrying blunt weapons. These numbnuts look like freshly graduated kids.

I can hear civilians complaining. I can understand their frustration.

[What are you waiting for? Beat them up. No, kill them. Yeah. It's better. Kill them. You don't keep a lady waiting.]

[You just need to say Eternal Void while focusing on the target you want to kill.]

Well, the System is right this time. It doesn't matter how many times heroes capture and imprison these villains... they always escape, causing chaos and death. Should I give it a try? Should I kill them?

Hell no! Damn it! What the hell am I thinking?

'Q&Q, let's enhance my entire body this time.'

"Is that pole your weapon? Is it made of metal? Looks expensive. Where did you buy it? Can I hold it for a moment? Please..." I asked the hawk mask for his weapon with a smile.

You see... When students graduate from the hero academies and start to work, they often buy expensive weapons because 70% of them like to show off. Just ask about or praise their weapons or any equipment, and you will know how they like to brag about their equipment.

How do I know? Well, remember that French friend of mine I mentioned in the last chapter? He is a League Academy graduate. And man, one day, I made a small mistake of praising his weapon and costume. That chatterbox babbled about his equipment the entire day. Akk! I don't want to remember it...

Anyway, the way this hawk mask is trying to scare me, I am 100% sure he is one of those braggers. Just look at his gold watch. Who the heck wears a Rolex and shows up on hero duty? His sneakers are limited edition Jordans. This costs a shit ton of money. So, yeah. I am 100% certain. This group of brats... They are nothing but bluffers.

I am starting to have some doubts...

They might not even have any good powers, or else the hot-blooded graduates who want to beat up villains in style while flaunting their power are trying to diffuse the situation with words.

Ah! Hawk mask took off his mask and grinned. I knew it. Here it comes...

"Oh! You have a pair of good eyes, I see... Here. Take a good look. You won't find such quality anywhere. There is a custom-made shocker... Let me tell you... Blah... Blah..." Hawk Mask is babbling without care.

Here we go. Humm. The pole has got some weight to it.

Hukkk! I blacked out for a moment and then came to my senses.

Huh? What was that? Whatever, I might be dehydrated...

"Hey, frog face," I yelled, cutting the babbler off, "Catch." I threw the pole like a javelin toward one of the frog mutants.

[Booom] The pole pierced through his thigh and pinned him on the road. Broken shards of rocks and debris scattered everywhere. Green blood was oozing out of his leg.

[Zooom!] Wow! The pole returned to me. It's floating before me.

It took a few seconds for everyone around me to grasp the situation. Then came the reaction...

"Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" The frog mutant is screaming, holding his injured leg. While the other one went down on his knees and put his hands up as a sign of surrender.

[That's your Weapon Master power. The more you fight with weapons, the more deadly the weapon will become in your hands. You are still far away from that level.] said the System.

"Aaa!!!" The hawk mask hero is looking at me with his mouth open.

"Thank you for lending your precious weapon. Here, you can have it back," I grabbed the pole and handed it over to its rightful owner.

"You... Where..." The hawk mask hero was about to say something. But before he could speak, Natasha came...

"You are late. Huh? An all-new hero group? Is there a problem?" Natasha said with a cold glance at the pole wielder.

"Black Widow!!! Nope. Sorry. Thank you. No problem. We will be on our way." He stuttered. I can tell that he is shocked to see Natasha.

"What are you guys doing? Arrest them and put them in the van." He ran away from us while shouting orders to his teammates. And we started walking toward our car.

"I wonder just how much power you are hiding in that body of yours," says Natasha as she holds my arm as if she is my girlfriend.

I can hear the civilians taking pictures of us, and the ones in the cars thanking us. This feels very satisfying. Walking with my beautiful Black Widow holding hands. People will be jealous. I am sure someone caught a video of me throwing the pole.

We got into the car and drove away...

"Miss. Natasha. Where is my kebab?" I asked, seeing the empty package.

"Oops. The shashlyks were too delicious. I couldn't help myself. Sorry," Natasha said with an apologetic look.

"Haha! As long as you are happy. Next time, I will cook homemade kebabs for you," I replied with a small chuckle.
