Having risen to unimaginable heights through battling many gates over the years, his glory was renowned throughout the world and was said to be one of the few hunters that would pave the path to a brighter future for their generation.

Yet, that was all thrown out of the window.

Almost a decade after The Great Awakening which shook the entirety of Terra, the Hunter "Ace" stood before many people as he announced something that no one could've ever imagined.

"Today, I will be announcing my retirement."

Yes. That day marked the end of one Hunter's journey.

Though, it was not out of his own free will.

Levelling by the Sidelines

As the area around the remaining hunters became quiet once again, they all stared at the fountain in shock.

"W-What was that...?" Penelope's eyes shook in fear at the sight. "Was it... The boss?"

"Tch..." Jace clicked his tongue, his attention turning towards the rest of the party members in a hurry. "This is an anomaly. An environmental-type anomaly at that."

"Ugh... Dammit... We let our guard down!" Malory bit her lips in frustration. "An anomaly really did happen..."

"What do we do...?!" The Magician-class hunter cried out. "The monster took almost half of us... This...!"

"D-Derek... He didn't get eaten by the boss, did he...?!" The blonde-haired man screamed. "Don't tell me he..."

"From the looks of it... It's a dunes boss monster, from an underground desert dungeon," Jace stated. "So for the time being, he's okay. Though..."

"Though we need to hurry, right?! Before it's too late!" Landon looked at the black-haired man with worry.
