Having risen to unimaginable heights through battling many gates over the years, his glory was renowned throughout the world and was said to be one of the few hunters that would pave the path to a brighter future for their generation.

Yet, that was all thrown out of the window.

Almost a decade after The Great Awakening which shook the entirety of Terra, the Hunter "Ace" stood before many people as he announced something that no one could've ever imagined.

"Today, I will be announcing my retirement."

Yes. That day marked the end of one Hunter's journey.

Though, it was not out of his own free will.

"Ugh. This is too much... When's backup coming?"

Within a street filled with rubble, a swordswoman could be seen, with wounds and injuries visible on her body. The blade in her hand was shaking. However, she still pressed forward, pointing it at the beasts before her.

"I-I don't know..." From beside her, a male's voice rang into her ears. "But shouldn't we run...? These guys are no joke! Why did we have to find ourselves in this situation?!"

"And let them run rampant on the streets, killing more innocent people?" The woman frowned. "We're hunters. Our duty is to protect the civilians from these mindless creatures. We're not backing down."

"I only just finished my Ascension Trial..." The man clicked his tongue. "I don't even know if I can do it...!"
