Panic and Hopelessness

Panic filled the streets of Gorshemar as the people rushed for food and supplies.  Their currency was worth less, and the people were desperate to get rid of it before it lost all of its value.

The rumors had taken their toll and several of the families with the higher reputations and in the smith caste had sent for their Gin friends, acquaintances, and fellow workers.  It was soon widely known that the coins were worth less than they should.  The panic flowing through Gorshemar would, very soon, engulf most of the continent.

Ecthel was attempting to lessen the damage by blaming corrupt goldsmiths (an obvious lie), but the damage was done.  Their reputation was now in shambles, and the other major circles were making their plays for power.  Chaos reigned in the streets, and the merchants now were requiring more and more coins for the same good.  Inflation ran rampant, and it was those in the lower classes that felt the pain the most.
