Chapter 52: Blood is thicker than water

"Give us another pose, Mr. Tsukumo, the photographer said in a chipper voice. Daiki did as he was instructed and held out his right arm with his palm facing outward so the light would hit it better. The photographers were seated on two stools by the table of equipment at which they'd been working for the past hour.

"Thank you," the man said after photographing Daiki from head to toe.

'Three shoots in one day—how tiring.' Daiki thought as he sat down in the chair provided. Due to Emi's poisoning case, most of the shoots they had together were shifted, so everything needed to be done quickly before the charity gala.

"Have some tea and some snacks while we wait for our next shoot." Daiki turned his head just enough that he could look up and see Emi sitting down next to him.

"We have another shoot? I thought it was only three for today." He looked around the studio, trying to spot their photographer, who had left to set things up.
