Suspicion

Max furrowed his brows while starting his car. "What kind of secret are we talking about? And why would he know about your baby?"

"I don't know, Max. It's all so complicated. But I can't shake off this feeling that he's somehow involved in all of this."

"Well, if you're suspicious of him, it might be worth looking into. But don't jump to conclusions without solid evidence. You've been through a lot, sweetie, and I don't want to see you hurt again."

Melody sighed, her shoulders slumping. She appreciated his concern, but the weight of her emotions was starting to wear her down.

"I know, Max. It's just... everything feels so complicated right now. I thought I could move on from my past, but it's like it's catching up to me all over again." 

Max reached over and gently squeezed her hand, offering a supportive smile. "I understand, sweetie. Sometimes the past has a way of resurfacing when we least expect it."
