Chapter Five

"And here I am thinking you have matured in some fucking way but no!" Eric yelled as he paced. "You had one fucking job to do and that was to reject the damn pack but no! This was your damn idea, Amelia."

Eating my apple calmly I looked to him as I chewed the piece in my mouth before speaking, it was just Drake, Eric and I in the office since Santiago had taken the kids with Mary to the back to play. "Well, can I talk now or are you still going to continue to howl?"

He growled lowly and leaned on his palms from behind his desk his eyes on me, he was pissed alright but for the mean time he looked to be calm a little just to hear me out finally.

"You can't really think after those bullshit answers that i was going to just give up my pack. It's not even his and you all know this. The only reason he came today was to see if I was still that helpless teenager I once was before and I am sorry, but 6 years is a long-time people change and so did I."

"So what?" Drake said. "You're going to take the pack from your dad? With whose support? You have no mate, you're a rogue with two rogue pups, you been gone for 6 years it doesn't exactly give alpha qualities even to the naivest of wolves."

Tilting my head to the side as i ate the apple I nodded my head and looked to them standing not liking the fact that they were the only ones standing. "I don't need a mate, approval or support this is my home. Our home." I said looking to them. "I am not crazy my father has something up his sleeve but none of you want to see it. According to our laws once I am of age which i have been the pack is the first born alpha or Lunas in this case mine and if I am gone it would go to my son."

Looking at one another they both looked to pass some sort of message before asking the question that was ringing out their mouth for the past few days. "Mia, who's their dad?" Drake stated.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" I said leaning back slightly. "It doesn't matter now does it because come the blue moon ball I will be challenging my father so until that time all I ask is for asylum Alpha Eric as a rogue wolf all I ask is for asylum until after the blue moon ball once that's over I will officially challenge my father."

Drake and Eric both looked at another when Eric was the first to speak to me. "Let me talk to Drake first i will let you know later for now you can rest easy and are welcome here, tell Santiago to come here when you see him."

Nodding i left and went downstairs a few stray whispers here and there came from the wolf's omegas and such talking about how foolish I was to challenge a wolf when all I was, was a matless, pack less rogue. Sure, no one here probably knew who I was, and I was sure my father made it to where no one knew who I was but, in all honesty, it didn't matter to me. I was Amelia Grace Cornelius first born to Olivia Quinn Redbird and daughter sole heir to the red moon pack no one not even my father could take that away from me. He could try but it would never happen for as long as I lived.

Santiago was in the room i slept in, the kids tucked in as he sat on my bed across from them a slight smile on his face as he would look up to me with sad eyes. "The guys want you...you, okay?"

"Not really amor. My mate, she wants to break the connection with me because according to her being with a rogue is as bad as being with an actual wolf." he said quietly.

My inner bitch, yes bitch growled at the moment.

"Don't even start Mia, just let it go."

"She's telling you shit about who you slept with, yet I am sure she's no blushing bride right?"

Santiago simply looked away and stood up walking towards me his height was slightly taller than mine so, but he was not trying to intimidate me in any way. "Be nice, okay? You already had a long day, and the kids did to Corazon try to relax please."

Exhaling I slumped my shoulders and nodded to him, my hands at my sides. "Fine I won't make any trouble...I will just go get something to eat and call it a night. The guys are still waiting for you though."

Santiago gave the top of my head a kiss and left, he could downplay it however he liked but i knew he was upset about what happened with that girl and that was not okay with me or my wolf, regardless of whatever happened between us we owed him a huge debt he helped us when no one else would, he was the reason I was able to find an actual suitable home and now because of me he was going to lose the mate he had been waiting for his entire life.

Part of me was saying ignore it as I walked to the kitchen, my brows pushed together in concentration the other part of me was saying oh you better fucking say something. The pack hall went quiet as I entered and for once I was actually pretty grateful for it, the events that happened today were enough to send me even into a blank loop. My mind was to be focused on everything that happened in the meeting that I didn't hear the first thing that the small crowd of wolves were saying till I heard my name.

"Yeah, that's her, I know right." said the whispers.

My ears twitched as I heard her and couldn't help but calmly grab a plate from the cabinet as I continued to listen, to the gossip that was circling around me.

"I heard that her kids are the alphas children." one girl said.

"I thought they were that wolf guys she came with."

"That was alpha Luke is she fucking him to?"

"No, she's the daughter he exiled because she tried taking his pack..."

"What?" the other guy said.

"Yeah, she wanted the pack for herself she even went after his baby mama because she wanted her dad to be weak."

"Thats funny because the only weak one I remember being there was my dad."

They grew silent as they looked to me. "You know because it was easier fighting a 16 almost 17-year-old pregnant werewolf then talking and since he needed an excuse to take my pack that was left to me by my mother why not?" I laughed leaning my head back. "The best part was that he was fucking my best friend and I didn't even know until the day I was kicked out just to keep my kids alive."

"Thats funny what we heard was different." the blonde girl said.

"Mm of course you would and since I was not here to defend myself why wouldn't you hear shit about me?" I stated as i crossed my arms staring back at them. "Didn't they teach you though that the gossip stops when the person enters the room though?"

My eyes flashed their wolf red, my lips letting a small growl escape them as I stared down at them the alpha in me showing as the lesser wolves bowed their head and averted their eyes which was all good and great for me, all I wanted to do was eat. Moving towards the kitchen I looked around at the now quiet wolves as i moved to stand on the table not giving a damn if i spilled food or cups in the processes.

"I know you all don't like me, frankly i could give two shits if you did. However, you will respect me rogue, alpha, she wolfs, slut or even if I was a fucking unicorn! I didn't come here with the intent to make friends but I sure as hell don't need enemies if you know nothing of me or my children then mind your fucking business and keep the shitty gossip and assumptions to yourselves. I am still an alpha and it's been in my blood for many generations so," I paused extending my arms to everyone. "If anyone is up for a round or two come on then."

No one made a move or even breathed, some looked away while others glared but no one moved towards me. A few looked around before two guys stood and smirked their arms crossing over their chest, my wolf was extremely happy to see at least someone have balls to challenge me. Smirking I looked to them, "Let's take it outside then."

Like every pack of animals, they followed me outside somewhere cheering somewhere yelling and some were betting, both males had to be of beta ranking or at least other alphas, but they were pumped up for a challenge. Hell, so was I, nothing like a good old-fashioned ass whooping to put these puppies in their place!

Bring it!
