For three days we were in the compound the kids were playing with the other pups as I sat and ate an apple at the base of the stairs, my hair in a loose French braid a few of the strands blowing across my face, these three days I was avoiding Santiago and Drake seeing them with their mates was bittersweet for me, so I focused on the twins. Eric was dead set that he wished to know who their father was and demanded I have the spell removed from them, but I did not listen no matter how much they asked I was not going to tell them who their dad was because if I did it would do more harm than good.
Quinn's hair blew back as she was being chased by the other pups, as to where Alexander was trying to avoid the kids since he did not like that everyone kept asking him questions about his hair or the fact that his eyes would glow red for such a young age. Most pups' eyes would shift later on, but my twins were a bit special for their age. At least that's what Mary was telling me, and I believed her but what they say as special I saw as normal, the kids froze their ears perking and so did mine when I heard the gravel crunching beneath the tires up the driveway standing, I called for Quinn and Alexander my way. They ran towards me and hugged my legs, my stance went suddenly protective as I watched the pick-up trucks park on the flattened grass, I knew who was there and every part of me wanted to take them and run but I was an alpha. This was my home, and I was not going to be afraid, I was not going to give into fear anymore and that's when I heard Grace.
We are alpha! We are not afraid!
Standing upright, my eyes glowed as I spoke mentally to both of the pups beside me.
No alpha eyes
They both nodded and looked to me with normal eyes before they tucked themselves a little bit closer, the reality of it was that seeing my father again after everything I heard and everything, he had done not just to me but to our people was as if it sparked something inside of me not to hate him but to feel sorry for him. His drive for a male heir and for more power should have been focused on our people instead of what he currently was doing he really did fall in many aspects and if judging by how Mary said my mother was when she was alive then he really did disappoint her.
The doors opened and right away the scents that hit me were ones that wanted me to growl in pure anger but i calmed myself and patted the back to both Alexander and Quinn, my eyes watched as a very pregnant Beth stepped out of the car with the help of her mother. Her belly was extremely huge and swollen she looked like she could barely walk, her blonde hair was tied in high ponytail. She looked tired but it could have also been because of the giant fur like blanket she wore around her shoulders, my eyes watched her as she waddled to the back of the truck her eyes looking around till, they landed on me. Her blue eyes filled with fear, the same fear she had in them when she saw me all those years ago that she told on me.
Looking away from her my gaze landed on my father, he was still the same not a ounce of aging had hit the old man. The only thing different was his hair, gone were the curls and instead he had a army cut, his cheeks looking more defined despite the years you could see behind his eyes. He was still broad and walked upright, his leather jacket on when he inhaled the air his eyes glowing a fierce red when he suddenly focused all of his attention on me. His eyes started directly at mine for what seemed like an eternity until Alexander moving drew his attention, he looked to my children that held onto me and arched a furry right brow before looking away. Santiago moved beside me and lifted Quinn into his arms as he then elbowed me lightly, his eyes filled with worry and what looked like pain.
"You alright?" I asked.
"Later...let's get the kids inside." He stated.
Nodding my head, I kneeled down to Alexander seeing that Santy was already taking Quinn inside. "You, okay?"
"That old guy smells familiar." He said looking to my father.
"That old guy is my father." I said replying.
"The one that hurt you?" He asked facing me.
"He didn't hurt me baby...come on let's go inside."
Alexander gave one last look towards my father who was staring right at us the entire time, Alex took my hand and pulled me with him towards the door my back to both Beth and my father. It was weird seeing them here again, even weirder that it was more for a peaceful encounter then one where I had to fight him. After a few introductions everyone sat around the pack table that was used for these particular meetings, Beth, my father, Drake, Santiago and Eric of course I had both my kids within sight and far from my father and a few of the wolves that were there in the room to keep guard. We were all entitled guards but if anything, my father had a few more due to his pregnant she bitch.
"Alpha Luke, always a pleasure to have you in our presence." Drake said sarcastically.
"I only came to take back my daughter and grandchildren. It has been too long since they were last home I would like for them to return since they are not here in state grounds."
"Yes." Beth chipped in. "Your father would love for you to be part of your brother's life and you being away and a rogue isn't healthy. Your not a teenager anymore Mia you must think rationally."
"In case you have forgotten Elizabeth but I was told to leave my home and its interesting you all want me back didn't your men come to my house the other day to kill me?"
"I cannot stop my enemies." he said.
"Enemies?" Santiago said surprised.
"Yes do tell what enemies exactly are you speaking off." Eric replied.
"The counsel its self has sent spies after i have brought in rogues to my pack, they have even placed spices among my betas people yet he claims there not but as i have made my intentions clear my only goal is to help the rogues have a home regardless of there crimes." he said smirking as he looked to me.
"How chivalrous of you Alpha Luke." Santy said smirking. "Does that also include your daughter who got pregnant out of wedlock?"
My hand grabbed his arm as i shook my head, i knew the subject was a touchy one for Santiago he was born out of marriage to a werewolf couple, his parents were happy for a few years until his father found his mate after that all ties were cut with his mother and himself. When he heard my story, he couldn't help but sympathize with me because in one way or another he knew what it felt like to be abandoned by the man that raised you.
"You have to understand i wanted what was best for my daughter, i wanted her to be someone that her mother could be proud of but instead she acted no more then a pack whore would in heat."
"You mean like Beth." I said sweetly a smile on my face. "I mean technically that's what she is since she's not your mate or Luna." I said looking towards her overly make upped face "Or am i wrong?" I said looking around the deathly quiet table of alphas and betas.
My fathers brows pushed together in a glare as he would suddenly slam his left hand on the table making it shake from the force, as he looked my way.
"You will be respectful to the mother of my son." he bellowed his red eyes glowing.
"No. I actually will not." I said my eyes shifting their own alpha red. "I am not here to talk about a fake family relationship when i know that its not what you want dad."
Leaning back in the chair he was watching me before a smirk formed on his lips. "I assume you're the one that called for the meeting isn't it?"
"Yes, I saw Mary mind explaining what happened there?"
"She insulted me much like you just did Mia, her punishment was needed so others would not do the same, i am carrying the heir to the pack after all."
"Technically your just carrying a bastard."
"Amelia." Eric warned with a calm tone.
"You left the pack Mia rightfully it is mine not yours." Luke stated.
"Did she ever break ties with the pack?" Drake stated his eyes on Luke.
His face turned sour like he literally ate a lemon, i took the time to look at the kids watching them play with the play do and magnetic sand on the ground, smiles on their face as they did not even pay attention to what was going on.
"She did not. She simply left."
"That's not how I remember it." I said looking up slightly my head tilted. "You chased me out, you wanted me to forfeit my children and my rank. Something I never did even to this day which explains why your wolves attacked me dad."
"Think what you want but I know you're a rogue by choice, you could have always come home but if you're not then it's because your done being a pack."
"To put your fathers mind at ease then why don't you just reject your ties I mean wasn't that why we were called here for?" Beth said calmly.
"If you answer my questions truthfully." i stated.
"Very well, then ask Amelia."
Santiago pushed his brows together as he looked to me with concern, his mind linking with mine.
What are you doing?
"Why do you have the rogues?" I asked, ignoring his mind link.
"Everyone deserves a second chance Amelia. Regardless of the past they deserve a chance they also make exceptional bodyguards for your brother."
He was lying. I knew my father better then he thought and that there was a lie.
"Do you really trying to bed mated wolves to have more sons?"
"Next question."
"Are the children being trained to fight?"
"What happens in MY pack is not any of your concern. You abandoned it long ago."
He was right, I left my home a long time ago regardless of the reasons I stayed away but to be honest i never thought that things would escalate too how they were. The man my mother married never was this way in the stories Mary told me of him and my mom. If anything, it was like I was looking at a stranger. The alphas talked of what I had no clue because my mind drowned everything out all I could do was watch my children, how they played with the toys and were carefree pups, that the only danger they had ever met in their life was the danger my father brought to them the day of their birthday.
To think the other pups in the pack were being trained and treated differently or how Mary described the pack now didn't seem like the pack that I grew up in, sure it was not perfect, but It was not this bad, how she explained it and hearing it made it seem how not only my father was paranoid but denying what was being asked I knew. My wolf knew that regardless of our once happy life this would not and could not continue.
"Do you Amelia Grace Cornelius revoke your claim to the Red Moon Pack?" My father said looking to me sternly. It was as if he was still trying to force his will on both Grace and I but it didn't work. It never worked.
"NO!" I said standing, my eyes glowing more fiercely as I stared down to my father. "I will not revoke my claim to my pack, and I will not yield to you or your pack whore. I who have come from a long line of Luna's and daughter to Alleia Grace Redbird will not submit what is rightfully mine to tyrants like you."
Shifting my gaze to Beth as I stood both my father and Beth stood with growls escaping their throats, they looked more like angry dogs that got their bone taken away.
"I curse the day your mother gave her life for you."
"I curse the day my mother lay eyes on you for of all the wolves she could have had, she ended up with one pathetic and broken as you. You can go back to MY pack and continue to rule as you see fit for now but after the blue moon ball, I promise you that I am coming back for my home, and I will take it Father."
Eric and Drake were more pissed than anything after they left, but Santiago was the one that broke the silence with a joke. "So, you're going to be alpha huh? Does that mean I can keep your car?"
"In your dreams Santy." I said rolling my eyes at him.
Fucking Luna, great just great.
