CHAPTER 27

Yoo Na was seated as usual waiting for class to begin for the morning when she heard loud murmurings outside the class and it became worse as it neared but she ignored it until she saw Jisoo walking in and rushing towards her.

"What's wrong?" Yoo Na asked with a straight face.

"In Ra got into an accident and they say half of her face was seriously damaged." Jisoo delivered the news immediately with a shocked look on her face but Yoo Na couldn't care less.

"So? Do you feel sorry for her?" Yoo Na asked with a slight irritation visible in her voice. Yoo Na didn't feel the least sorry because she knew exactly what In Ra was up to, pretend like she had an accident just to do a plastic surgery to be prettier and she wondered if nobody was smart enough to realise her drama.

"Even though she was mean, she was in an accident and it could be traumatic for her." Jisoo said with a sorry look on her face and Yoo Na scoffed loudly. Yoo Na thought the girl was too good for her own good and if care was not taken, she might actually end up like Bae Ra, even if she didn't die like her, the world would treat her like garbage and use her.

"Don't be so gullible. She only made it up to get a plastic surgery." Yoo Na said with a flat tone and Jisoo gasped with wide eyed in shock.

"Why would she ruin her face just to get a plastic surgery? Why didn't she just get one without doing that?" Jisoo asked with a surprised tone and Yoo Na realised she was as dumb and nice as Bae Ra.

"That'll mean I defeated her and she just couldn't bear being defeated by a poor kid like me." Yoo Na explained and Jisoo shook her head understandingly.

"Ahh....I see.." Jisoo said thoughtfully.

"Whats is this? Are you two best friends now?" She heard Da Yeon's mock filled voice interrupting them as she neared along with Nam Joo and Jisoo had a scared look on her face but Yoo Na gave her a stoic one. Da Yeon could talk as much as she wanted but she knew better than picking a fight with Yoo Na since she was obviously tougher.

"Shouldn't you be with your friend in the hospital?" Yoo Na said with a calm tone.

"We'll see her after school and that's none of your business you filthy bitch." Da Yeon cussed at her but she didn't bat an eyelid at her. She ignored them and averted her gaze to Jisoo who was obviously scared of them.

"Won't you sit?" She asked Jisoo and she did slowly beside her which made Da Yeon laugh loudly.

"Hey! Jisoo! Come with me." Da Yeon motioned for Jisoo to follow her but Jisoo looked at Yoo Na for a second before slowly getting up.

"Sit down!" Yoo Na ordered and she immediately sat back as she lowered her head. Da Yeon scoffed loudly as she glared down at Jisoo who was still seated.

"You know what I'll do to you if you don't get up right now!" Da Yeon said between gritted teeth as she couldn't believe that Jisoo would defy her like that and all because of Yoo Na who got more annoying by the day. Jisoo didn't move an inch from the seat even after Da Yeon threatened her which made her even more furious and then within a blink of an eye, she flew her palm across Jisoo's face and Yoo Na abruptly jolted up from her seat as Jisoo held her face in pain as she sobbed lightly. Da Yeon smirked in satisfactory as she stared at the crying girl.

"Who gave you the right to hit her?" Yoo Na's eyes shot up in anger as she spoke.

"I have the right to hit wretched people like you and no one will do anything about it." Da Yeon said with a huge grin plastered on her face because no one in the school would care if a poor kid got hit. Yoo Na knew reporting her would be a total waste of time so it was useless to think of reporting.

Yoo Na saw the grinning face of Dae Hyun and anger engulfed her, she suddenly flung her palm violently across the face of Da Yeon and the grin on her face disappeared as it got replaced by a shocked and pain filled expression as she held her left cheek in pain.

"Since we go to the same school, we must have the same rights then, right?" Yoo Na said with a wicked smirk on her face while the other students gasped in shock.

"How dare you, you fucking bitch!" Da Yeon yelled as she stomped out of the classroom in anger and embarrassment that a lowlife had hit her in front of everyone but she would make her pay.

"I'm really grateful but you didn't have to do that, now her mom is going to make a huge fuss about it tomorrow and you'll be the one to get in serious trouble." Jisoo said apologetically but Yoo Na scoffed.

"I've gone through worse." She said as she took her seat and Jisoo wondered what she had gone through.

School had ended for the day and Yoo Na hurried out since she was on her way to meet Inspector Han for any information concerning her friend's murder case. She was almost out of the school gate when a black car pulled up beside her and the window at the back seat pulled down to reveal Cha Eun's face.

"Don't you get tired of walking?" Cha Eun asked as he stared at the empty hearted girl who didn't seem concerned about walking a 100 mile.

"No." She said coldly and was about to leave.

"Please don't refuse, let me drop you home." He said and she couldn't see any reason why she wouldn't when having him by her side as an ally would do her a huge favour. She got in the car and Cha Eun was glad that she did.

"Drop me at the station." She said to the driver and he nodded.

"Why?" She heard Cha Eun ask.

"It's personal." She replied firmly and Cha Run wondered what her secretive nature was hiding.

"You know Da Yeon's mom is..Crazy and she hates.." He trailed off.

"Poor people." Yoo Na completed. "I'm not scared of her, let them come if they want." She said blankly and Cha Eun admired her courage. The ride ended as they arrived at the station and she immediately went in, directly into Inspector's Han office which the Young male officer she had seen the other day directed her to but this time, he went in with her which made her a bit confused.

"It's okay, he's part of this secret investigation." Inspector Han said as she seated.

"Hello, I'm Jung Moon." He introduced with a grin on his face and she bowed slightly.

"Is there any new information on the killer?" She immediately asked.

"The only lead we have is that he's left handed and that's a pretty useless lead since thirty percent of people in Korea are left handed." The inspector explained and she sighed in disappointment.

"We actually have a second lead. He always dumps the body near seokchon lake but we couldn't find anything." The young officer explained and her eyes lit up in hope. Even of they couldn't find anything, she might hopefully find something if she searched patiently.

Yoo Na laid in her bed thinking of going to the lake which she hoped would be a huge success but right then, she had another problem to handle. The principal had told her to bring her parents for the disciplinary board meeting for the assault on Da Yeon.

"What? You hit someone? Why would you do that?" Her mother yelled in fear that she would be expelled from the school.

"She hit someone first." She said, not because she wanted to explain herself but because she wanted the conversation to end as quickly as possible.

"But she didn't even hit you, anyways you'll apologize to her tomorrow, huh?" Her mother said in panic.

"Yes." She said flatly and went back to her room while her mother just stared at her.

Yoo Na slumped on the bed as she stared at the ceiling disbelieving the fact that her friend was actually dead. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stop thinking of Bae Ra for a second and she didn't want to stop thinking of her since it made her even more motivated to fulfill her new dreams, which was to take vengeance on her killer.
