CHAPTER 65

Miss Lee's death spread like wildfire because she was the first aristocratic lady to be a victim of the anonymous gift killer. APEX company was a hot rumour center for her death as it was one of the most shocking and unbelievable news. Everyone wondered how a powerful and wealthy woman as Miss Lee became a victim of the anonymous gift killer.

The people and the police safely assumed that the anonymous gift killer must certainly be a wealthy man for him to be able to have access to Miss Lee. They all grew wary and suspicious of the rich in the country and they all soon believed in the saying that the rich often did the most craziest thing and the anonymous gift killer was far beyond crazy.

The people could all suspect every rich person in the society, every conglomerate, every aristocrat and every ambassador but they would never, not ever in their wildest dreams suspect Dae Hyun because he was an upright man of the people or so they thought.

Dae Hyun observed the staffs as they gathered in small groups peering their eyes through the screens of their phone with horrid expression on their faces. The corpse of Miss Lee had been leaked out into the media and for all to see just like every of his victim's, leaving them in terror.

It was obvious that the anonymous gift killer leaked the pictures of the corpses to the public to instill fear into them. Dae Hyun loved the terrified look on their faces, he loved the feeling of fear he emitted into them, he felt like a god, the god of fear.

He ignored the ruckus caused by Miss Lee's death and went into his office. A few days ago, he had requested the company's computer team for the background files of every low class scholarship student in grade 12 of Elites High to sponsor a scholarship college program for them, but it was all a cover up to gain knowledge about Jisoo's background.

The files had already been delivered to his office and they laid on his table. He picked them up and a wicked smirk appeared on his face. He scrolled through the pages searching for Jisoo, he didn't know what she looked like so he could only hope her name appeared once or he might end up killing the wrong one. But he figured if it recurred, he'd just have to get rid of both but fortunately, there was only one Jisoo in grade 12.

Dae Hyun searched thoroughly until he saw the name, Tan Jisoo, with the picture of a fairly pretty girl atop the left corner of the file. Her background status was written underneath it. Dae Hyun's eyes squinted as he read her background status and the corner of his lips curved up sadistically as he pushed his glasses up slightly.

She was eighteen years old and it was obvious she came from a low class family as the only guardian she had was her grandmother and she didn't look like much. Her house location was stated in the file and it was located in a poor area, it was perfect for him because areas like that had poor facilities so there was a huge guarantee that there wasn't any working surveillance cams in the area but he would check anyways from the security team in the company to be double sure. Her kill would be easy for him but he'd let her live a little since he was planning to kill them after they found out the truth, then it'd be more painful and torturous for Yoo Na after getting rid of everyone close to her and there would be literally nothing she'd be able to do except watch and cry. The police wouldn't be able to help her because she wouldn't inform the police, since she wanted to get her revenge and it'd be impossible if the police interfered. She'd be all alone, watching every one she cared about die, from her friends to her parents, but he wouldn't touch her, he'd make her watch and he'd torture her with their deaths.

He took the files and walked over to the fireplace. He watched the red flames for a minute before shoving the papers into it and he watched as the flames ate it till it turned to ash. He didn't need the papers anymore, he had Jisoo's information stuck inside his head, where his dark thoughts laid.

He made a schedule for the next day to visit the Elites High since he was going to give the low class students in grade 12 a college scholarship as it would equally grant him admiration and an even more renowned name in the society.

Dae Hyun had a consolatory speech he had to give concerning Miss Lee's death, so he strode elegantly towards the hall where the reporters, staffs and a few business associates occupied, awaiting his speech. Cameras clicked as soon as he walked in and it didn't stop even after he stood on the podium.

They all took their seats in silence but the clicking of cameras could still be heard. He extended his greetings politely as he made to start his consolatory speech. He pushed his glasses slightly, seated on the bridge of his nose perfectly with a glum look on his face that seemed genuine to all.

"It's really such a pity...We've lost such an ambitious young woman to the cold hands of death by the well known vicious serial killer, popularly known as the anonymous gift killer who's been terrorizing our city, for the past few years." Dae Hyun said with a firm but consoling voice as he clenched his teeth in anger as if her death had sincerely touched him, but only a woman watching him could tell with one glance that he was putting on a nice act while the rest of the audience felt touched by his consolation. His grey eyes narrowed down to Inspector Han and Oh who were present in the hall, before he continued with his speech. "Before she died, she had planned to become one of the shareholders of this company and I personally thought it was a great idea, but now...That's impossible because of how shortly and unexpected her life was taken, I'll make sure personally, that the police is provided with good facility and equipments to generate faster results in catching the killer and their paychecks will be increased also to motivate them to do a more efficient work and for progressive investigations. The public isn't exempted from helping the police, if there's anyway you can assist them, please do. Don't be afraid to report suspicious movements and persons, I'll personally provide the police with their needs to render protection to the public, I'll also show my support to the police work force by taking care of their budgets and paychecks and I'll also do my best as a citizen to report any seen suspicious activities, so please don't hesitate to do that also, you might save thousands of lives with just an action you take. I send my regards and consolations to the Lee family." Dae Hyun said with a slight bow and the crowd gave an applaud at his heartwarming and sincere speech and also for his generous support to the police work force.

The cameras clicked nonstop as he exited the podium and his way was abruptly obstructed by the Inspectors. He had observed Inspector Oh a long time ago and it seemed like the Inspector was uninterested in him as the suspect or the serial killing case as a matter of fact, probably because of lack of evidence and because the killer seemed impossible to catch.

Dae Hyun knew that Inspector Oh wasn't interested in him or the case as much as Inspector Han was even though he acted tough beside Inspector Han. He would have to get rid of Inspector Han, then Inspector Oh would be totally laid back and relaxed as it seemed like he had no choice but to accompany Inspector Han with his fruitless investigations since he was his superior.

So now, Dae Hyun had to get rid of Inspector Han but he'd let Miss Lee's death die down first. He planned to kill Inspector Han in his house alongside his family, if he had one and he'd make it look like a murder driven by grudge since he knew the police had a lot of enemies, so he'd be far from anyone's suspect, no, he wouldn't be a suspect at all to anyone. He smiled internally at his malicious plans.
