CHAPTER 80

Yoo Na's eyes fixated on In Ra who was eating her lunch alone, she no longer hanged out with anyone, not even Nam Joo after Da Yeon died two weeks ago, she avoided everyone like a plague and hadn't even bullied anyone recently, naturally everyone would think she was stricken by her friend's death but her instincts told her there was more than what the eyes saw.

She had a strong suspicion that In Ra was hiding something and her instincts warned her that she knew more than she let out. Her thoughts were interrupted by Cha Eun's hand waving in front of her face and she immediately came back to reality.

"What are you thinking about? You seem lost." Cha Eun said with creased brows in curiosity as he locked his gaze with her, demanding to know what ran through her mind.

Yoo Na wondered if she should tell him about her suspicions but it wouldn't hurt if she did and he might believe her, knowing how vicious the girl naturally was.

"It's In Ra." She said and Cha Eun gave her an oblivious look, it seemed like he hadn't noticed In Ra's act yet and she was either the only one who saw through it or she was just over reacting but she wouldn't leave her curiosity unsatisfied, especially when it had something to do with the anonymous gift killer.

"What about In Ra?" Cha Eun asked in curiosity, holding his chopsticks with a piece of meat trapped between it midair as he waited for her response. He was always eager to know what ran through her mind as she always thought outside the box, leaving him perplexed and all the more drawn to her beauty, brains and personality.

"Something's not right with her.." Yoo Na said as she tilted her head both sides deeply in thoughts and Cha Eun glanced at In Ra for a second with squinted eyes.

"I know right? I found it odd that Da Yeon's death affected her this much, I've known the both of them since kindergarten and obviously they only hung out because they're both wealthy but...In Ra is cunning and cold, she didn't even like Da Yeon, to me that's my observation over the years but I don't know how everyone else sees it." Cha Eun said with a thoughtful expression as he ate the piece of meat hanging on his chopsticks and her eyes widened slightly at his words.

"I knew it! I think she's somehow connected to Da Yeon's death, I think she knows something, that's why she's acting weird but everyone probably thinks she's in mourning but she can't fool me, I know enough to know she doesn't care about Da Yeon, she's too heartless to waste a tear on her corpse." Yoo Na blurted her thoughts out as she scoffed in perplexity, different thoughts running through her mind.

Cha Eun's mouth was left hanging open in disbelief as he fluttered his lashes at the shocking news.

"So you're saying she knows something about the anonymous gift killer? But how did she even get acquainted with him in the first place?" Cha Eun stated out with curiosity and disbelief as he got engulfed by his own thoughts.

"That's what I don't know, all I know is she's acting suspicious and I don't know if she's acquainted with the anonymous gift killer but she seems suspicious." Yoo Na said with a twisted face, she wondered how she would have any idea of who the anonymous gift killer was, then as if a thought ran across her mind, her eyes widened, why hadn't she noticed it all these while? She thought to herself.

"What's wrong?" Cha Eun queried seeing her stricken facial expression.

"It's jisoo." She said with a low wavering voice in wonderment and Cha Eun's brows knitted together.

"She's the one who's been passing out information to In Ra, Oh my God!" Yoo Na said with a stricken face as her hands flew over her mouth in disbelief. What had In Ra possibly done? She thought to herself.

"She threatened Jisoo, didn't she? It's not Jisoo's fault, she probably had no choice since she was left unprotected after you let her go." Cha Eun said, but she wasn't mad at Jisoo. "Besides, what makes you so sure Jisoo's her informant? It might be someone else." Cha Eun said and she shook her head vigorously with a grim look on her face, she was sure it was no one else but Jisoo.

"There's no one else, it was Jisoo. I hadn't even noticed it before but now that I think about it, she was so eager to find out about our plans and leads from me and I had told her that I suspected Dae Hyun without suspecting her, so don't you think it's all weird how after she must have informed In Ra who my suspect is, her friend suddenly ends up dead?" Yoo Na queried and a hint of doubt became visible on Cha Eun's face as he reasoned out the possibilities of her words.

"I don't know what In Ra did, but whatever she did caused Da Yeon's death and I'm not surprised if she pushed the girl to her death, she's after all a selfish narcissist." Yoo Na reasoned out and Cha Eun's jaws clenched firmly.

He couldn't play Dae Hyun as the killer for a second in his head, it was impossible for him to do, but hearing Yoo Na out, everything seemed connected to him but there was no evidence and he hoped deeply that they were on the wrong track even if it meant not catching the killer or getting their revenge as long as Dae Hyun was innocent.

"We won't know for sure until we get the profile database of the plate number owner." Cha Eun said with a slight frown on his face.

Yoo Na knew he adored Dae Hyun and they were quite close and it seemed almost ridiculous to her that he might be the killer but connections and leads kept falling on her lap and she couldn't help but make sense out of it when they were all connected to him.

"Yes, but for now let's keep our eyes and ears open." Yoo Na said but Cha Eun didn't reply as his face turned glum.

"I know it's hard but sometimes some people aren't who they show the world they are that's why you can't fully trust humans, you did that and now you're hurt with only the possibility that he may be the killer." Yoo Na sated sternly with a blank expression, it seemed like she didn't care about anyone's feelings but her action made it clear she did.

"It'd be hard if he turned out to be, I've known him since I was ten, he was a father figure, the father I always wanted but never had but...I know he's not and when we get our hands on that profile database, you'll see I'm right." Cha Eun said with a firm voice.

He believed it was all a misunderstanding, Dae Hyun couldn't be the killer, it was impossible.

"You're right, we should get our hands on the database before drawing out suspects, so let's wait till then and see."

In Ra watched them as she spoke and she didn't need to wonder much about what their conversation was about, it was probably about the killer and their ridiculous quest for revenge, she thought inwardly but she couldn't bear to see them together especially when she noticed the looks Cha Eun gave to her.

As a kid she always got what she wanted and now, she saw him slipping from her fingers and her fists curled into a tight ball firmly, turning her knuckles white as her eyes burned with anger. She was going to teach Yoo Na a lesson before leaving her to the anonymous gift killer to have fun getting rid of her.
