JUST A GUARD

[LUCA]

Well, that was unfortunate.

Instead of giving the two friends space to make amends, I'd only aggravated the situation further.

But who could have known Cecelia was just there, hiding in the darkness like a creep? I didn't even notice her. She must've been lying very still, hidden by the backrest of the bench, listening to our conversation.

At least I didn't do anything stupid. Or to be more exact, I'm glad she interrupted us before I could do something stupid.

After seeing Lena's hurt face when her friend left, I knew I had to do something.

We'd be leaving the palace in two days to continue the princess's visit to the settlements in the rural areas of the kingdom, and it would be bad if their dispute wasn't resolved by then.

Our dispute. I guess I played a major part in it.
