THE HARDER IT GETS

[ANDRE]

"Have a good night, Lady Cecelia," I said politely.

"Good night, Prince Alexandre," she said with a sickeningly sweet smile before walking away from me.

I waited until she disappeared at the end of the corridor before I sighed in relief. Finally. I couldn't bear another second alone with her.

Cecelia's company wasn't too bad. She was very pleasant to talk to. We could talk about any topic, and she would always have something to say about it.

But she was flirting with me the entire night at the library. At first, I thought I had imagined it, but the longer the night went on, the more obvious she was. Occasionally touching my arm or hand, giving me those uncomfortable stares, biting or licking her lips suggestively at certain moments, accidentally brushing her body against mine when she laughed — I knew none of it was accidental.
