Blood Debt

"What do you want?" Kratos asked, his grip on his axe not relaxing.

"You seem like a calm and reasonable person. Are you a calm and reasonable person?" Thor asked, his voice deeper like rolling thunder. "If you are, let's be civil and talk things out over mead. If not, I'm all for charging at each other like rabid dogs till one of us realizes the other has a bigger bite." Kratos looked to be mulling over his words before looking at his son who shrugged.

"Hmm," Kratos groaned as he sheathed his axe behind him. He pushed his son into the house and beckoned Thor to follow him inside.

'Here we go,' Thor thought as he walked into the house, Muninn and Huginn flew in behind him, perching on a cupboard, staring at them all. Thor looked around and nodded.

"Cosy," he said with a small chuckle before looking a Mimir's head on his own rest, looking at him in wonder.

"Mimir, looks like all it needed was to chop off your head to keep you quiet. Should have known," Thor greeted the god of wisdom who scoffed at his words.

"Where's he?" Mimir asked, not bothering to respond to that.

"About and around, as usual. What? Are you so eager to suck his dick again? But I guess you must give amazing heads now," Thor said with an amused chuckle. (A/N: Sorry, I thought it was funny.) Mimir was definitely gobsmacked, the Thor he knew was never this sassy. Thor turned to Kratos who showed him to seat, accepting his host's gesture, sat at the table and put the urn of mead in front of him, his eyes never leaving Kratos. The warrior's eyes never left his and so, a staring contest ensued.

"Honestly, I thought you'd be younger. But I guess old age does not wait on even gods," Thor said before removing the urn's cork. Kratos gestured to Kratos who quickly came with three earthen mugs. Thor poured the mead into two of the mugs before turning to Atreus.

"What about you, Jotunn, fancy a mug?" be asked crassly. Atreus was about to answer but his father beat him to it.

"No!" Kratos said resolutely. Thor nodded, putting the cork back and pushing a cup towards Kratos and the other pushing it aside.

"Not thirsty?" Mimir asked.

"If I'm lucky, I'll b drunk on blood by the end of today," Thor said with a small laugh. Just then, the door was opened forcibly and in came Odin.

"You know who I am?" Odin asked Kratos, Thor immediately sidelined. Odin took the mug of mead and downed it all at once while Thor put Mjolnir on the table.

While Odin was berating Kratos over the death of Baldur while calling the deaths of his two sons inconsequential, Thor was studying Kratos. His eyes could see more than Odin could ever hope to and that was a power that clang onto Kratos's very soul, the power of Hope given to him by Pandora.

'This is his plot armor. Got to say, it is very well executed,' he thought.

He scanned Kratos's body from head to toe, forming a digital clone of him in his mind before creating a universal arena where the digital version of Kratos was. Using precognition, he saw and recorded every fight Kratos has ever had since his campaign to kill Ares, killing the Furies, the gods of Olympus, the Titan Kronos, sparring with Faye, killing Baldur, the Valkyrie Queen and dragons. All of the fights, he had recorded his stats and fighting experience into the digital copy and then he appeared in front of him.

This was a training simulator where he could fight with Kratos, a mindless killing machine that would go through every tactic it had to kill him. All he had to do was fight it over and over again till he was sure of where he would stand because if he truly wished it, he could destroy this universe and be done with Kratos. His strength, speed, power and durability was outerversal. What he lacked was experience. Thor's own did not count and so who better to have as a sparring partner but Kratos.

So, while Odin was going on and on about offering peace to Kratos, he train with a Kratos that did not have the ampathy the one in front of him had. With one second going in for five hundred millenniums in the arena, he can attest that truly Kratos was a formidable warrior! With the Olympian physique of growing stronger as he aged, it reached a level where their very clashes made him feel the slip of his world fail and threaten annahilation of the dimension. So, he destroyed the Kratos, completely, before coming back to his senses. Odin was coming towards him with a disappointed look on his face.

"Don't take too long," he whispered to him as Muninn and Huginn disappeared into his body. He walked out of the home while Kratos was looking at Thor with wary.

"It's a shame, really. If you had not killed my sons, we would have been bossom buddies. You look like a man that truly needs a drink," Thor said with a sad smile.

"Your sons, I apologize for their..." Kratos did not get to finish his words for Mjolnir suddenly slammed into him, sending him flying through the roof and into the horizon.

Kratos struggled to push Mjolnir off of him but the weapon zapped him with lightning over and over again, making him feel sluggard. They crashed into a hidden building, with Kratos expertly landing while making Mjolnir fall off him. He stood up to access his surrounding only for him to see Thor already in front of him, a punch already going for his head.

He didn't have time to react as a heavy punch landed on him, making his head slam onto the ground, shaking the entire building they were in. Disorientation hit him, making him shake his head, trying to focus. But, his years of fighting made him not lose focus of the challenge ahead of him, getting to his feet, right hand outstretched, calling for his axe. The leviathan flew into his awaiting palm just as his focus came back, seeing Thor looking at him with patience.

"You're not from around here so let me educate you on our practices. You killed a son of mine, your son killed another. I am not one to punish another man's sons while I can take it out all on the father; so you owe me two blood debts. You took something of mine, I will take something of yours and I already know what I am aiming for," Thor said as he cracked his fingers.

"Your sons would not let it go. I asked them to leave but they were adamant on fighting us. The consequence was us coming out alive and your sons dying. I don't regret my choice but I do sympathize with you," Kratos said.

"If sympathy would soothe my heart, I would have drowned in it. The fact is, you killed the sons of Thor Odinson and I am here for retribution. So, you better not show me a sorry excuse of a fighter or else you will truly die," Thor said before clapping his hands in front of him in a thunderclap, the shockwave hitting Kratos behind, destroying the building and the mountain behind him been reduced to boulders.

Kratos was quick to his feet, just in time to block a punch coming his way, with Leviathan. His feet dug into the frozen wasteland as he was been pushed backwards, his eyes widened as he saw the impossibility, his Leviathan axe was slowly cracking from Thor's point of contact. Quickly, he used Thor's own momentum to make him fly past him as he took out his collapsible shield, eyeing the larger god warily.

"I know that axe. It has been a long time since I fought its previous wielder. Too bad I was piss drank, I wished to fight her again when my mind is clear. But you, you are a welcome upgrade," Thor said before snapping his fingers. Mjolnir flew into his left hand palm before changing into Strombreaker in a clap of thunder.
